Like I said it works well for our needs and since it was in the bottom of the rack anyways it didn't matter much yet, hopefully not in the future. As to your next question it really depends on the friends and what the need it for whether I would recommend this or a different one.
Pros: Compact, Good Cord Length, Warranty, Well Built / Quality
Cons: wouldn't fit in the rack brackets

I've used a Tripp-Lite BC-450 for more than 25 years with no problems other than a few battery replacements, so you tell me, why wouldn't I buy Tripp-Lite again?

First of all I was impressed with how well this item was packaged, of course it arrived in perfect shape. Works exactly as expected and I love the scrolling display. I am using this to power a router, hard drive, switch, DSL modem, and weather station receiver, based on the current load it is estimated to provide over 60 minutes of backup, way more than I expected!
