[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can tolerate dogs no problem, but cats are tough. Moved into smaller place with girlfriend and within 2 months my allergies were bad. Swapped cheap filter with a high MPR Filtrete and left central fan running for 2 days. In less than a week all my allergy symptoms went away! Sure enough, 3 months later they came back again and to no surprise found that the filter needed to be changed (it was really working hard and trapped a ton of air crud in a short time). I'm now hooked on Filtrete filters, and though the price is worth it, we all want to save money. So, it's time to change filters again, if this one really can hold 2X's as much air crud (hoping that translates into lasting 2X's as long) I'm eager to find out and be even happier knowing I'm cutting the cost in 1/2.

I bought 16x20x1 as is instructed on furnace. It was too wide for slot. Prev filter said actual size 15 1/2 x 19 1/2 x 1. I found this to be the standard for most other brands. However, the filtretes purchaded are actual 15 11/16 x 19 11/16. Very odd and slightly too big.

Hello. We apologize for the difficulty. 16x20x1 is the nominal size for this filter. The actual size is undercut slightly from this measurement. Unfortunately this size can vary manufacture to manufacture. We make a number of different sized filters but will list the actual size on the frame of the filter so you can find the exact size you are looking for. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In 17 days my 3yr old Bryant Evo. A/C alerts for filter change, the shortest of any filter I ever used in my air conditioned home of 26yrs. The caked dust/debris is evident as usual but the half life is upsetting. I have CVID causing major immune/allergy sensitivities and really can't afford to pay for 20+ filter replacements yearly from a brand Ive trusted to do as they advertise and last for my money spent. I can only hope the next purchase of filtrete filters will be closer to my brand expectations . Thanks

I've tried twice to submit a review, twice I've been told it is NOT valid. Guess I will start looking for different filters. Care to tell my why my previous submissions were not usable????

Maximum Allergen Reduction Filter 1900

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The installation instructions state: "Insert the filter...with the arrow on the frame pointing towards the blower motor." However, both the picture and the instruction on the filter show and state that the arrow shows the direction of the air flow through the filter [which is the opposite of facing "towards" the blower motor. Please review the installation instructions for consistency. Thank you.

I have no idea what to do with this BETTER AND HIGHER END filter... this is the first time a 16 x 20 x 1 inch filter purchased at the local hardware store DOESN'T FIT.
I have an AC unit with a more precise slot in which to insert the filter. No matter how I try, it just won't slide down the frame as required. I can't return the unit for a lower grade filter because I didn't save the receipt.
