Been buying these for several years now, 1085 or 1085D, and wouldn't go elsewhere. We change every 4 months and they're catching everything we need them to.

Allergen Defense Air filter does not fit !!!

I was using Filtrette Clean Living filters for years and was happy with its performance. Having read about the higher filtration levels of Allergen Defense, I decided to order this one for my 20X25X1 opening of my AC unit. To my surprise I was not able to fit it into the hole into which the Clean Living filter entered easily. The Allergen Defense is taller than Clean Living filter of the same posted sizes 20X25X1. Please advise what could be done. Thanks!

Do not buy

I bought this filter for my furnace and noticed furnace won't quit running. My furnace ran constantly for 2 days until I find out from the technition that this 3M filter is made too thick for smooth air flow, which will make the furnace work harder to compensate. The issue was solved as soon as changed with a different filter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Disposable Filters

Been using the 20x25x4 for multiple years now. Filters work great, I replace mine every 90 days in my house. Never had any issues or concerns about quality or construction of the filters.
I've seen many complaints about the 1" thick filters and while I understand their concerns; a 1" thick filter is old technology and should consider getting a larger filter box.
I find the complaints about the tabs holding the pleats in the filter where you may have to push a few back trivial. You're buying a MERV 11 equivalent disposable filter, again DISPOSABLE. It wasn't long ago when everyone was just using the blue fiberglass air filters.. There is a balance between retail cost and manufacturing cost. If they raised prices to appease everyone, they'd complain the filters are too expensive even though build quality is excellent!

Filters out more dust

I bought a 3 pack of filters at Costco, my first Filtrete purchase. After using the three filters, I have noticed the air dust particles in the house have been greatly reduced. Especially noticeable in sunlight. These are good filters. However for me to become a full-time Filtrete customer, the price point needs to be reduced about 25-30% to be in-line with other high end filter price points.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Because you have to breath

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love 3M Air Filters! No other filter has ever made it so much easier for me to breath through the height of allergy season. I always know when it's time to change the filter because I wake up all stuffy in my sinuses, with the 3M Filters I can have 3 full months before I need to change the filter, with other brands I was lucky to get one full month. I like 3M products and find that the majority of the time all of their products are extremely well made and of excellent quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!
