It's been a few decades since I bought my OG Leatherman multi-tool. Finally decided to take advantage of improved engineering/new generations.
This model is about 3/4 size of the old Leatherman, but designed to be much more comfortable to use. So far it is exactly what I needed. I appreciate the well designed belt pouch, too.
I work in theatre and on films and often can't bring a large tool bag on set. This tool covers 50-percent or more of my needs and is always with me - a huge plus.
The Powerlock is a winner!

I've had this for almost 5 years and continually find it up to the challenges of backcountry Alaska. A wipedown and a blast of WD40 keep the stainless finish stainless, even in the moisture-laden September hunting season. The fact that the tools are replaceable and interchangeable is amazing. One of the best features, by far. I've added the 1/4" drive and wire strippers to my SOG and now have the tool the way I want it. If I could have one thing improved, it would be locking c clips for the tool screws to keep them secure and at a constant tension.

I only bought this multitool again because the SHEATH is no longer made lol. I am keeping the extra multitool aside incase something goes wrong with my 5 year old Power lock Thankyou for SOG.

I think I got this roughly 10-12 years ago. Its been through a deployment with me and I've been using it ever since. I Immediately got rid of the tools covers and the only complaint I had about this went in the trash. I have used it so long the knife is only good for spreading butter. If I were to try and sell this as a new tool the poor guy at the counter would probably buy it. It looks like the day I've bought it and I've used it as a hammer. The gears still work, the needle nose are still mostly pointy, and the wire cutters still cut wire. I've had a lot of different multi tools being through the army and various manual labor jobs, but this is the only one that has stuck with me the whole time.

I have had for 20 + years and love it work and out back camping other one repair because of miss use and repaired at no expense to me 2 leather sheaths with blade splitting a bullet and one black nylon sheath witch I get, material is going to wear out cause I carry everyday. Trying to get another sheath and not easy to find. I found on another site note related to Sog site.
Another than that I love it.

My first one was inherited from my father. I'd never heard of DOG by my brother was a lifer in the Army and couches for it. I used it roughly for years as I trained horses, rode the back trails of the Sierras, and ran a mobile RV repair business. It pulled rocks from horse hooves, repaired saddle rigging, fixed innumerable odds and ends, and then went to work with me fixing RVs until I left it in a customer's RV one late night. I was devastated when I realized what had happened, but I immediately ordered a replacement and had my name and number engraved. A few weeks later my customers who had been visiting from the other side of the country, mailed my dad's back to me. So then I had two. But as a final statement on how useful and nearly indestructible I have found these to be: my home burned to the ground just before Christmas. I lost everything. I have now ordered and received my 3rd Powerlock. I've never needed to order one due to a problem with the tool; I always need to order one when I don't have the tool. The thing is brilliant, handles abuse well, fits in the hand well, is adaptable, can be maintained and modified readily... It's just a great device.
