my original review was with Joann Fabrics (clay ny) I bought the singer c9920 over a year ago and she is still going strong! I was a brand new sewing baby. I have made full drapes and small curtains. Hand bags for the girlfriend. Tote bags and repaired any of my clothing that needed extreme help. I am 71 and a retired chef. Love the sewing so much I bought myself a used Bernina sewing and embroidery machine last month(a new learning curve)

I wanted a machine for apparel sewing, not embroidery or quilting, but most machines come with all the extra stitch functions, which I find distracting to simply accessing what I need.
This is a good basic machine with apparel capabilities, but the I wanted a narrower free arm, and this one is wider than my old machine’s. (I was told by another brand seller that computerized machines can’t have that narrow of an arm.)
The threader is difficult and the bobbin winder is slow, but the bobbin holds twice as much thread as my high end Viking. I decided to return it and keep what I have.

Runs super smooth and quiet. I love this machine so much and have only used it for a couple weeks. Only complaint i have is that the bobbin is a pain to wind 😅

Love this machine. I've had it for 6 months. Use it almost daily. Still learning all of the programmable features. It's good for beginners and has many features to learn as you build knowledge

I love this machine for piecing and simple sewing, I've not had much of a chance to get familiar with it. I had a hard time finding a manual and contacted Singer and they sent a link and I was able to download it. Thank you Singer. Now I have one more issue. I wish I knew how to disengage the Start/Stop feature. I begin sewing, only for it to stop about 20 stitches in. Very frustrating. I've looked in the manual and it isn't in troubleshooting. It only tells me when i have the msg on screen that the foot pedal in plugged in, well, I want the foot pedal in. As stated, I don't want the start/stop on. Other than that, I think it will be great, tension seems to be great from what i've seen and I just have to read more of the manual to learn the stitches. lol, but I can't get over the frustration of the darn stop start feature, easier to go to another machine. I would recommend, I'm sure I just got a bad apple?

Easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so glad I got this for my grandmother. She absolutely loves how many stitch options there are. She has already made several projects and loves that she has the option between 5 different fonts. The speed control has helped with her projects that are more detailed. I can't wait for her to show me how to sew too! She had no difficulty with the setup. She loves the screen and that once you choose a stitch it shows you exactly what pieces you need. I hope this one lasts her a long time!
