Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to fully test out this camera because the sd card slot was broken when I received the camera. I got all my settings changed then went to put a card into slot1 and the depressor is jammed on that side and won't work. Slot2 works fine. And apparently instead of exchanging the camera for a working one, I now have to wait a few weeks for Sony to "take a look" at the product (which I unfortunately have a shoot in a couple days). So once I get a working camera I will update this review but for now it is sitting at a 3 star.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this because I wanted a reliable camera for weddings and events. It has surpassed my expectations, there's some stuff I have to relearn and things I will miss with my old camera by switching to the FX30, but it's worthy trade off. I highly recommend this to other professionals.

Hi I love the new Sony FX 30 cinema camera. It fits in well but what I do I have shot over 15,000 music videos and some documentaries and short films and I always wanted a camera like this just for cinema.

The camera is good but dont have raw system the most important thing in the film industry you have a great name Sony but you have to know if you make the decision to make this products new cinema line in your brand tell me the reason your don’t introduce in the camera system now i have to buy another piece to film in raw and make happen waisted and spend more money for some one miss this idea….
