Not able to find start of tape

I bought this yesterday and it took about 15 minutes trying to find the start of the tape because it didn’t have the green starter piece. Had I known I was going to go through this I would’ve went with another brand!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free from 3M of Scotch Magic Tape. This particular roll is 18 yards. This tape is great for labeling, crafts, wrapping, & so much more. Comes off the roll smoothly, cuts easily, & you can buy refills for the rolls. Perfect tape for all your household needs!

splits and peels! Two rolls in the same pack, same

I bought a multipack of this magic tape. UGH. The first roll was ok. The 2nd roll began splitting and peeling after I'd only used it a couple times. I find the end, try to use it, but it immediately tapers to a thin strand and then splits off. YES I am using a good dispenser, into which this is inserted properly. Figured I had a bad roll, took out another roll. SAME PROBLEM!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

horrible rroduct

bought a package of 4. Just threw out # 4. The tape breaks coming out of dispenser and almost impossible to restart it. Same issue on all the roles. never expected such poor quality from this old line company. I just replaced another 12 roles I had given to a Sunday School class with brand x which works as expected.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

what the heck?

I have been using this for YEARS in home/shool office and pretty much everywhere in between. Purchased a 10 pack, maybe 8 months ago. Used 2 rolls then, and no need since then. HOWEVER, now I cannot use any of the remaining rolls.
I place roll on support/spinner thingie & into dispenser. Then begins to roll off to one side (getting thinner and thinner), as i'm pulling a piece off. Even if I catch the end before it sticks, it starts right up again, getting thinner until eventually not pulling tape anymore.
I have tried: scissors, flat razor, knife anything & everything to get started again. I usually hafta use scissors to cut throught about 10-20 layers, to start a new end. I am now on the last roll in the 10-pack. I've ended up tossing over HALF of product. I was hoping it would be just some goofy issues for that batch, but seems unlikely as I haven't seen many others with same issue.
Definitely not buying scotch brand tape again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given Scotch Magic Tape to try for free from 3M. This has always been my favorite tape. Almost everything I use tape for, I want it to be invisible. I’ve tried other brands but always come back to Scotch, it’s the most invisible tape I’ve tried. Magic tape also holds very well. Not too long ago, I ordered 6 more rolls of Scotch Magic tape for my dispenser that stays at my desk. The dispenser that came with my free roll is excellent. It is well made and cuts the tape easily.
I would recommend this to a friend!
