Nest Learning Thermostat

It was fairly easy to install. Just make sure you know your thermostat wire colors and codes. If you’re not sure, watch a Nest Learning Thermostat installation video on “You Tube”. The video will help you understand your wire codes and where to connect your existing thermostat wires. Once that is correct the rest of the set-up is pretty easy.

Right out of the box we had a low battery and charging issues. Old thermostat worked good and we wanted an upgrade but had problem after problem with the Nest. Very disappointed.

Hi Rizon, thanks for letting us know about your experience. We’re sorry to hear that you’ve encountered battery problems with your new Nest Learning Thermostat. Battery drain problems usually occur when the system wires can't deliver enough power to charge the battery of your thermostat. It may also be related to Wi-Fi connectivity issues where the battery drains due to the network usage of the device.

You may try to completely disconnect your Nest thermostat from the Wi-Fi network and try to use it manually for at least 24 hours. If the issue is resolved while it is disconnected, the battery drain could be caused by your Wi-Fi network. If the issue continues to occur, then the system wires are probably not delivering enough power, and your Nest Learning Thermostat may need a common (C) wire to get adequate power to stay charged up.

We’d like to help you in the best way possible. Please reach out to our support team, so we can work together to find out the root cause of the issue. You can contact us here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Not quite the coolest thing since sliced bread, but real close. The ability to check on the temps remotely, adjust things before you get home and see how much energy you're using are all pretty cool.

This Nest thermostat is so awesome looking and very easy to set up on your phone. You can control it from wherever you are! I commute 30 minutes to work, I turn on my nest 20 minutes before I get home and my house is perfectly cool. Again it is very easy to use. Thank you Google!!!!

Best thermostat

We got this thermostat to replace an older programmable thermostat that was here when we bought the house. Due to someone having incorrectly wired our heat pump, I had a Google HVAC installed install the thermostat. If the wiring had been done correctly, then I can say that it would be fairly easy to do the installation. The thermostat works great. It keeps the house comfortable

The thermostat has a mind of its own. We need to be able to set and monitor temperature in a rental house. The Nest is doing whatever it wants.

Hi Rosemary, thanks for reaching out. We are sorry to hear of the inconvenience that Nest Learning Thermostat caused you.

Nest Thermostat changes its temperature automatically due to some factors like, schedule, learned habits (auto schedule), and Home/Away Assist which makes your thermostat go to ECO mode. You have an option to use it as a traditional programmable thermostat. You can manually set the temperature and create your schedules for the thermostat to follow. Here’s how:

With the Nest app:
- Open the Nest app and select your Nest thermostat.
- Select Settings and then Auto-Schedule.
- Tap the switch to turn it off.

On your thermostat:
- Press the ring and choose Settings and then Nest Sense and then Auto-Schedule and then Off.

We also suggest turning off your Home/Assist, and clearing the existing schedules by selecting Settings, then Reset, then Schedule and Reset again.

Please let us know if you need further assistance and we’ll do our best to help you. You can contact our support team through this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
