My Nest Thermostat

I purchased my Nest Thermostat approximately one year ago. I am very happy to report, that after installing and programing the unit, it has worked flawlessly. In regards to flexibility, I can control it by voice via my Google Home units that are also scattered throughout my home or the Nest mobile applications that are installed on my iPhone and iPad. Don't hesitate, if you are considering a Nest.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too short period to learn if the promised savings are accurate. Easy to use lovely addition to automated home utilities. No camera as I read online before the purchase

Unfortunately not as advanced as advertised

I have a dual fuel system according to the learning thermostat. Unfortunately, unlike my old less than 20 dollar thermostat, the learning thermostat dollar doesn't know to automatically use the alternate heat when raising the temperature by more than 2 degrees You can change the temperature threshold for when to use heat pump and when to use alternate heat, you can set to always use alternate heat... oil is expensive. and you can set it to never use alternate heat. It's a shame that there's no way to tell it to use it when you turn the heat up more than 2 degrees, although a standard thermostat knows this... I'm very disappointed in this product, not a good value for the money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We understand Auxiliary heating can be an expensive but necessary solution for your home. For this reason, your Nest Learning Thermostat comes with a Heat Pump Balance feature that lets you control and manage how you want to use your auxiliary heating. To change the Heat Pump Balance for your Nest Learning Thermostat, simply these steps using either the Nest Thermostat display or the Google Home app and select your preferred setting (Max Comfort, Max Savings, Balanced and off):
With your thermostat:
- Press your thermostat ring to open the Quick View menu.
- Select Settings Nest settings icon.
- Select Nest Sense.
- Select Heat Pump Balance, then choose the setting you want.
With the Home app:
- Select your thermostat.
- Tap Settings.
- Open Temperature Preferences.
- Select a Heat Pump Balance setting.
To get the best savings, we recommend choosing Max Savings for the Heat Pump Balance feature. An Extremely Easy Upgrade !

This product was easy and quick to add to our home. The resources available to help explain and simplify everything related to these products are numerous and quite thorough. Especially the website chat option which was amazingly easy and so professional. I was a little hesitant to take on an install so important for those living in a colder climate in fall and winter but it was as easy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We like our Nest Learning Thermometer because we can set it and forget it. And when we leave the house, if we forget to set it for “away”, it does it on its own thereby saving us money! If we remember, we can set it before we get home so the house is comfortable when we get home.
It is also just a cool to set it from my chair when I am home!

User interface is excellent. Very easy to use. I wish there was more documentation from Nest covering more advanced installs for those of us that may not be HVAC pros but that are very capable do-it-yourselfers... That being said, it was well worth figuring the install stuff out. So far we love this thing! Super capable and easy to use!

This item was a great addition. The ease of installation, the clean modern look, the simple setup along with an app thats user friendly make this item a must for a home owner. Its eco savings are worth the upgrade from the old and dated thermostat most people use. There’s also an opportunity to obtain greater savings through your local utility or insurance company. My only suggestion is shop aggressively to find the right deal!
