One of my favorite "smart" home purchases...

Upon purchasing my home, I upgraded all of the lighting to LED, converted old switches to new, and finally pulled the trigger on purchasing a Nest Learning Thermostat. I had gone back and forth between the Nest and Nest E, and decided on the regular Nest for the vibrant display and how I felt it went with the rest of the decor in the room which it is used. I have yet to have a complaint about the thermostat and it's amazing ability to help you save energy. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasteful upgrade to their decor while saving you money!

It was easy to install if you followed the directions. Easy to program and easy to use. The app is convenient as long as your somewhat capable of using a smart phone. You should definitely. get this devices even if you dont need a new thermostat.

Great upgrade!

I was having new runs installed in my basement and separating the 1st and 2nd floors creating 3 separate zones requiring 2 new thermostats. My contractor recommended Nests.
Full disclosure, I wasn't sold on the idea of spending Nest prices on the thermostats and wanted to install less expensive Honeywell or similar programmable units, but my contractor started telling me of the Nest benefits and that my utility company had a rebate on the units, so I went ahead and had him install 2 Nests and move my Honeywell unit to the basement.
They've only been in about a week and I am glad that I went ahead with them.
The units are very easy to program from the unit itself, the app or the computer.
It will be interesting to see what if any energy benefits I realize long term, but so far the units are working well and look great.
I was going to give the Nest an Overall Rating of 4.5 due to the price of a unit, but it didn't let me give less than a full point so I went with the 4 rating.

Easy to install, easy to use

I installed the Nest thermostat in less than 10 minutes, set up 2 accounts using both the Android and iPhone apps, connected it Google Home and everything works as expected. It looks good on the wall and has been doing exactly what it's supposed to do so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nest vs. Google not a great integration.

First of all, when I purchased the Nest Thermostat, it was operated by Nest Labs and I really like their mobile app to manage the device. Google has now purchased the company and is pushing everyone to a Google account which is not what I want. Also, my Nest thermostat has failed updates many times rendering the device useless (W5 error). The same one has been replaced now 5 times. Anyway, I l
