The Nest thermostat is a definite upgrade from my original 7 day programmable one from a competitor. Its modern aesthetics are in line with the look in my house and I love it. My husband loves the large display showing the temperature and I love the energy savings. You can't go wrong with the purchase if you like saving money . Who doesn't want a smaller Energy bill?

I always do a lot of research before I make purchases like this. I read reviews good and bad. What I learned about wifi thermostats was there are people who love them or hate them. It was no different with the Nest thermostat. I read so my complaints about it, I almost didn't get one. But after reading other reviews on other brands, I discovered that there's always going to be those who don't like a product. I actually got acquainted with the Nest when helping my daughter install hers. The instructions were simple and clear. She did most of the work. All I did was confirm there was a C wire. Once it was powered up, you simply follow the onscreen directions. The only thing that we had to wait for was for the battery to charge so we could connect the router. Mine I had to wait a couple hrs but not knowing how long it set after be manufactured, is completely understandable. At the end of the day, the Nest is far the better wifi thermostat. It is far superior, technology wise.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not much to say, this is extremely versatile and works well for our needs. Do your research and know what to expect. In my research you will need a common wire or constant hot wire to properly power the thermostat. I have this wire on my package heat and ac unit with aux heat strips. Works great and the app is easy to use. I like how I can select the outside temp when the aux heat will come on.

NEST is Amazing !!!

I am 71 years old, have two homes and consider myself Hi-Tech Challenged!! My friend showed me his NEST and convinced me to buy one for both homes. He showed me how to operate it and “I also learned with using it” I have saved a lot of money by being able to adjust temps with my iPhone. I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with both my NESTS.

I like the ability to change it from a phone, however the learn feature is off and it doesn’t hold the temp it’s set at. It’s constantly warmer than it should be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The learning feature Auto-Schedule learns from your preferences and automatically creates schedules that turn on the thermostat. Here are a couple of things you can do to disable the learning feature and clear your schedules.
- Select your thermostat in the Nest App, and select settings at the top right corner.
- Select 'Auto-Schedule' from the list and toggle the switch to the left to turn it off.
After disabling the learning feature, we suggest clearing all the schedules to make sure the thermostat doesn't turn on by itself:
- Go to your thermostat, and select Settings > Reset > Schedule > Reset.
