Replaced Honeywell WIFI

Replaced current Honeywell RTH9585 with Nest Learning Thermostat. So far, I have had it only a few days and it is working great. I can already see a savings with the settings. I feel it matches with my 12 year old a/c better than the Honeywell. Glad I purchased this product, maybe my wife will let me get another one!

I have used a Nest Thermostat in two different homes I have owned. It always works perfectly. I would recommend if you own an older home, just have an electrician rewire the thermostat.

I bought this for use with a heat pump with electric aux heat. It is helpful to analyze energy usage and avoiding auxillary heat

Three people recommended we purchase a NEST Thermostat, and boy am I glad we did. We bought an older home that had been rented out for 6 years after the previous owner had died. I think the thermostat was at lease 10-20 years old, all I know is that it was impossible to program anymore. We paid an electrician to install the NEST but frankly I could have done it myself. I did install it myself on my iPhone and it was simple. It is easy to program from the thermostat itself and even easier from the iPhone. I find that I am sitting on the couch and turning the heat on and off since I don't need to get up anymore. If it is set for 70, it goes off when it reaches 70 not 72 or 74, and goes on again at 69, not 67 or 68. We are thrilled with our purchase!

New Nest. Continues to throw E73 no power. Drain clear, fuses good, Nest charged with USB. Runs for a few hours and then throws the E73 error again.

Hi Dan B, thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to learn that your Nest Learning Thermostat keeps on getting power errors.

This power error means that your Nest thermostat is not detecting any powers from the wire. Possible causes are, insufficient power coming from HVAC, faulty wiring, faulty thermostat terminals, incompatible system, or if you don’t have a common wire (C).

If you haven’t yet, you can try doing the following troubleshooting. Make sure to turn the power before touching any wires.
- If you have a single transformer or only 1 power wire, try to connect the RC to RH or vice versa, see if the error still persists.
- Test the system if it will run using your old thermostat.
- Check the compatibility of your HVAC here: https://store.google.com/us/widget/compatibility/thermostat.

We’d like to help you the best possible way. If you’re willing, we’d like to take a closer look at the issue and help you isolate what is causing the problem by doing further troubleshooting. Feel free to contact our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
