We received the Nest thermostat as a promotion from our energy provider. Both the thermostat and app are user friendly. It is flexible in that you can use it in a learning mode or program it according to schedule. This can be done remotely. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how our energy use is impacted.

Love , my Nest.
By controlling the temperature when we are in the house and away. The app works great, you control your settings or let the nest learn.
Its just a great thermostat.

Would appreciate temperature history

There are very nice features about the Nest including the quality sensors, the heating scheduling, the integration of accessories (cameras, thermometers), and access when I'm away from home.What I miss, that my Netatmo product provided, was a history of changes in temperature over the day in the various locations where I've placed my thermometers. This has been a very useful tool for me to determine when I should close up my house on particularly hot days.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your thermostat’s history is a detailed summary that covers the last 10 days. You can view it on your thermostat or with the Nest app on a phone, tablet, or computer. You’ll find a simple graphic that shows how long your heating or cooling ran for the day so that you can make smart choices about your schedule and temperature preferences. You can learn more about the thermostat history with this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247300
Also, you might want a temperature sensor if you have a multi-story home and care most about your comfort downstairs during the day and upstairs at night. In cases where your thermostat isn’t installed in a good spot, a separate temperature sensor can help keep you more comfortable by measuring the temperature in various locations and using that temperature to tell your heating and cooling system what to do. The Nest Temperature Sensor is battery powered so you don’t need any special wiring or an outlet to use it. It connects to your 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E over Bluetooth Low Energy and has a range of about 50 ft (15 m) so it should work in most homes. It works as advertised. Simple and precise. I tried the Eco bee and it seemed overly complicated. I just want a thermostat that adjusts my temperature and keeps my house comfortable. This one does it gracefully.

Have used Nest from launch in 2011, including all 3 generations. Use is utterly intuitive, and you will have no problem installing. Don't waste money on a "Pro" installer! We've used most features, they've saved us a ton of energy $$$, and the app is skookum. This newest gen is a delight, with subtle refinements beyond the new features advertised. Reward goodness with a purchase!

The instructions were very easy to follow. Remove, replace, set up, and use. The product itself Is very easy to adapt and play with. The app just makes it that much more convenient to use. If you have an old thermostat, upgrade. You won’t be disappointed.
