Smarter than Ecobee4

Nest's learning smarts are clearly and significantly superior to Ecobee 4. It works like a charm with my Google Home! Automatically figures out the right temperature at the right time of the day/night once it learns my preferences.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought this for our vacation home in the desert. Allows us to monitor the temperature when we are not there. Easy to install and looks great!

Great product better than expected

Great product better than expected
i switch from mercury based old thermostat and the difference is a way far even to compare them
still i have this thermostat only a week to be able tell more i think after a year of use i can tell more
but so far i can say the installation was very very easy, and plus this is probably only intelligent thermostat who is able to replace the old mercury based ones

Technology: beautiful inside and out

I cannot believe I’ve waited this long to get a Nest thermostat. What a beautiful device - and one what’s not only pretty on the outside, it’s insides are just as impressive if the technology itself is any indication. The app is intuitive, just plain easy and makes it almost fun to change the temp in your house. I am giddy just looking at this technology on my wall.

The thermostat does not have a hold temperature settings. When you leave your home for vacation you have to reprogram your entire 7 day calendar as their is no hold temp on the stat. It’s a pain in the butt.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you´re willing to try, the Eco mode feature on the Nest Learning Thermostat functions the same way as the hold feature. When you manually set your thermostat to Eco Temperatures, it will stay in that mode and won’t automatically switch back to heating or cooling until you manually switch it to other modes. You may need to manually set and program the Eco Temperatures on your Nest Learning Thermostat if you haven't yet, then you can manually (using the Google Home app) or automatically (using Home/Away Assist) set it to Eco mode. Set it and forget it!

At first I was a bit reluctant to install the thermostat myself. It sat on my kitchen counter for a month. Then I opened the package and read the instructions and saw that it wasn’t too difficult. I was replacing and old thermostat so most of the wiring was done. The intallation took me less than 20 minutes. The thermostat learns and you don’t ever have to adjust it after the first few weeks.
I would recommend this to a friend!
