This is by far the best thermostat on the market. Set up is easy with tool and self tapping screws for the installation. Eco friendly device to help save you money and be more efficient for the environment. You have to try it yourself to experience the best of the best. You won't regret it.

I like the idea of the simple way of adjusting the degrees and displays when close by. Be good if I could calibrate the unit as the degrees are slightly off compared to my inside temperature.

Hi Glenn, thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry to hear that Nest Learning Thermostat is not giving accurate temperature readings. There can be several reasons why this may be happening.
A difference of a couple of degrees is acceptable as your benchmarking temperature on Nest Learning Thermostat. But greater differences do need attention. Below are some steps that may help you with the issue:
- Restart the thermostat by pressing the display until it shows a black screen and wait until it's back up and running. A restart should be sufficient to re-calibrate them and show an accurate value. - Nest thermostats in the U.S. and Canada are typically installed on a wall. Check for proximity of the thermostat to: air vents / electrical outlets / appliances / plumbing (hot water pipes) / warm air in the wall behind the thermostat. This may also affect the reading for the temperature. - Some wireless access points cause the Nest thermostat’s wifi chip to overheat, which affects the thermostat’s detected ambient temperature. We can disconnect the network for 24 hours and monitor the temperature.
If the issue persists, we'd like to take a look at it for further examination and help you as best as we can. Please feel free to reach out our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Checked multiple reviews before purchasing. Was offered discount through our utility company and took advantage of it. We watched the videos to confirm this model would work without C wire. Installation was relatively easy. The hardest part was getting the app on the phone. Instructions mentioned to type in code but it worked better with using the scan code. Google Home app is needed too.
