technical issues adding to existing account

Unable to add 3rd gen thermostat to existing 2nd gen account. Was on phone for an hour with Customer Support and was still not able to correct the problem. They recommended creating 2 home accounts one for each device(thermostat) - not a good solution since I wanted to add vacation and rental homes and Google limits customers to 3 home/locations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nest thermostats communicate with each other through a thread network. If you are getting error codes, there’s something that must have been missed during the pairing. You can try this troubleshooting steps to fix the issue:
- Reset the Nest Learning Thermostat and try the pairing again.
- Identify if the Nest Learning Thermostat is looking for an assisting device. If yes, make sure the assisting device is powered on.
- Check for the error codes if the pairing fails.

An electronic jewel doing all of the functions described....Indeed a major saving in the HVAC bill and a peace of mind knowing that you can adjust settings with your IPhone, wherever you are and whenever you want to..... Excellent product highly recommended!

A must-upgrade in your home

I underestimated how good and simple Nest would be. My old system's buttons were no longer working and it took forever to set given it was so old. A new world opened up with this technology where now I don't even worry about setting or turning it off. It regulates itself....literally. It also looks uber chic and sophisticated. I recommend this to anyone looking to keep things simple at home!

Easy to install and easy to use.

The nest thermostat was easy to install and it keeps our house at a comfortable temperature. We have a lot of windows and our house frequently felt too cold or too warm before. It was hard for the old thermostat to keep the temperature constant.

I wasn't even looking at Nest learning thermostat as a brand option when I was trying to decide on a smart thermostat. I received it as a present and was surprised at how customizable it is and how quickly it learns with no interference from me. It does much more than I expected and is so easy to learn.

I like having a wi-fi controlled thermostat

It's been great having a thermostat I can control from my phone from anywhere. Great for pre-cooling the house before we get home (in Florida!). I find that the learning function does some funky stuff to the way the thermostat cycles the temperature in the house from day to day. Example: There was a weekday I was home and I was cold, so I turned up the A/C to 78, and Nest then decided that every single day the A/C would be turned up to 78, even though that was the only instance that it was ever done. Even if I set it for something different it would override my command to go back to its learned temp of 78. So the "AI" is still a little quirky. We turned off the learning function and deleted the "learned" temps/times and all has been well since. We just won't use that feature.
