I got this bag right before heading to Europe… had been searching for a duffel and this one is pretty sweet. Very well made and is also not trying to be too much. Just a duffel, not a hybrid duffel / backpack. The only thing that isn’t ideal is that when it’s really full the outer side pockets aren’t really so useful and the inside little side pockets are honestly a bit too small for what I wanted to put in them.
I bought this bag because the PD travel backpack was too heavy and unwieldy for travel, especially at airports. I love everything about it which make its flaws particularly pronounced, especially as it's otherwise so well-designed. THE HANDLES: I just don't get it, it's a well- documented complaint, the magnets just don't work. It's too weak. Why have they not replace the magnets with something stronger? It's so frustrating. All over bag magnets are weak too, not just the handles but the latter is the most interacted feature. The whole uncomfortable awkward design is not worth it if the magnets don't work. Fix this and the bag would be sublime.
Clever locking system in bag is very nice, made with good sturdy material, loads of pockets for just about anything, packs really well when using packing cubes
Bought for travel duffel that would stand up to a beating - totally delivers. On ask is to make a version with a separate shoe compartment. I have the shoe cube, but would prefer a built in zipper
Got this gor a 3 day trip. Size was perfect. All the pockets are great for organisation. Only the handles feel weird when carrying for a longer time. They cut into my hands and would have been better if they were ergonomically shaped or cushioned. All in all solid tho.
I got this bag a couple months ago and really love it. Super well built, sturdy and good volume. You can integrate a PD cube in it for gear and still have room for clothes. Corners fold down to give a larger opening when open. A super great bag and glad I got it.
I've been using the duffel for about 6 months and it's very versatile. I use it for night trips, weekends away, for flying, at the gym, at the lake, basically everywhere. It's durable and still looks brand new.
I wish the duffel had a laptop compartment or sleeve. When I carry my laptop, it either goes in the main part of the bag with everything else I carry (leaving it open to scratches, etc.) or I carry a backpack specifically for holding the laptop.
I've used this for a few short trips and overnight stays. It is a well made bag with some handy pockets. Depending on the light, the sage can be grey or green. Would love this in a navy.
