Just hits the spot

Backed this via the kickstarter, but as it arrived my girlfriends phone had a crack in its back, so she got it (and I had to order a new one).
She was on the fence in the beginning, but she definitely came around, saying this is probably the best case she has had yet.
Now I’m just (im)patiently waiting for mine to arrive.

Good case, minor quibbles

A case that nails the important features, but falls ever so slightly behind my preference for first party silicone/leather case. The buttons are within the goldilocks zone of responsive, and nice feeling, however they are unique in their feel, and it loses a bit of the 'click' I like from buttons. It does however avoid being mushy or stiff to press. 4.5/5.
The materials are decent, however I am mixed on the feel of the fabric, it has a tactile feel that differentiates itself from the common materials in a case, but it does feel like a heavy plastic based fabric; I think it's a decent tradeoff assuming this keeps it from possible stains, and not wearing out. The silicone rim is overall good and feels high quality, but a touch to the slippery side. The plastic lip around the camera bump is a slight downer, seems high quality, but feels out of place. I'm not sure what could be done, but maybe using a rubber like the rim of the phone would feel a touch better. 4/5
Feel in the hand is nice, having the mix of silicone mixed with rubber gives the phone a bit of it being a part of your daily clothes, rather than something a little more external like plastic/silicone alone, or as an accessory like leather. Biggest downside is that the middle accessory lock sort of breaks things up, and may be a slight discomfort in some hand positions. 4.5/5
Build quality is near perfect, however mine does have a small spot where there is an ever so slight lip between the silicone and fabric back is noticeable for how smooth the transition is on the rest. 4.5/5
Added value to this case is the adaptability of it. I have the loop version, which adds a nice additional anchor for weight when holding it. It also provides loops for lanyard connection, so it can be held in more precarious positions where the fear of dropping it may be(I find myself in this position when taking pictures at times), and of course their offering a wide variety of added accessories, plus magnets, who doesn't love playing with magnets? 5/5

Overall score is 4.5/5. As I just got the phone somethings are unknown, such as long term durability, and 'breaking in' of things like the fabric and possibly the buttons. I'm sure future versions can get additional polish to small hiccups, and potentially add more color options, or thinking of some way to enhance the small window created by the lock ring in the center(transparent, a different color, or adding the PD logo?)
TL;DR: 4.5/5 Great case, unique button feel and fabric choice, with a few small things like a plastic lip around the cameras, and potential comfort issues with the middle lock ring.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love the fit of this phone case and the look. Very minimalist, cool style and excellent protection for my iPhone 12 mini. The system of mounts is very handy. I have the wall mounts and universal bike mount and love them.
