Cuts well, but feels flimsy and unstable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach Can Opener is attractive, with an all black body and a chrome-look mechanism. It has a nice feature of letting you hide away the power cord inside the unit itself. But overall, it feels a little flimsy, and the handle on top doesn't seem to be actual metal. I don't know how long it will hold up. Plus, the instructions were vague, and it was hard to get it to latch onto the can. The first time I tried, the entire unit fell forward with the can and it wasn't even fully attached. Once I did get the can to attach, the opener did a good job of cutting the lid. It was a nice, clean cut, and fully separated the lid from the can. I'd like it more if the unit had more weight to it, to better balance out the weight of shorter cans. It just has a very cheap feel to it. I hope it will hold up to regular usage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Can Opener!

It’s sleek, lightweight, and quickly opens cans and doesn’t leave a rough edge, so no worries of cutting myself. I had several dull knives and the knife sharpener quickly and effectively sharpened them. It doesn’t take up much space on my kitchen counter which is a plus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was happily surprised ! This is a well made and sturdy can opener. i love the cord hole, to put it away and avoid any issues. Put my extra large can under it and pushed the handle down and with no effort the can opened. No slipping and no mess. It's sleek design allows you to use it in a small space. It looks great in my kitchen and is a very good product. I would recommend it to everyone that uses an electric can opener.

Simple design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hamilton Beach can opener has a simple design, is ready to set up, and does not take up much counter space. The blade used to open cans is easily removed so it can be cleaned. The magnet was a little tricky for me to use the first time because of the ability to fold it in toward the can opener itself. I did have to readjust the first can I opened because the magnet lost it's grip.

The knife sharpener is plus with this opener. I like that it it easy to clean and wipe it to clean to body. I love that it holds the top of the cans so you can remove them with easy.

Never thought I would used a electric can opener and like it as much as I like this . How comfortable to used and to teach the others how to used in the house to used it . I wish the can opener came in differentl colors and sizes

When i seen this black one, i knew i had to have it! It had two pieces to put together,very sharp and a cord storage. This Hamilton Beach Can Opener very much has my approval!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to Hamilton Beach Ambassadors, I received this Hamilton Beach Can Opener, complimentary, in exchange for my honest review. I must say I'm a little disappointed that it came all black and I originally chose the stainless steel look, but not a huge deal. The quality is above average. I believe it's one of their "lower on the totem poll" can openers of all different can openers from Hamilton Beach. I did a little research and was looking at all of them, but I love all Hamilton Beach products. I think even their lower tier items are of great quality, such as this can opener. It even goes above and beyond like HB always does, even having a little knife sharpener on the back side. It's a very convenient product to have and I'm thrilled I can toss out my old, rusty manual one. Simplistic assembly, as well, 1 attachment to the main piece, plug in, and you're done! I'm very very pleased.
