DON'T BUY! Scratched my stove horribly!

I purchased these to prevent our stove from being turned on accidentally. We have no pets or children in our home but our stove is very easily turned on if you bump it. These scratched my brand new stove HORRIBLY! The scratches can't be removed and my new stove is ruined. Don't buy these if you like your appliances!!!! I am beyond mad that there is no warning on the package that this could happen and now my brand new $2000 stove is so ugly!

Hinge broke before expected end of life

60% of these covers broke within a year. The hinge pin backed out which you can not see and then the torsional loading on the plastic exceeds the fatigue strength and the hinge and hence product fails. When they fail, they can not be repaired. If the pin backs out, they can not be easily re-set into the cover with conventional means available in a typical household.

Covers the know

Truly easy to install, but yes, an inquisitive kid can open it. That said, we've used ours for several years and they do the job. The problem is you must be careful when walking by because if you brush against the plastic cover while open it will snap off.

Prevents oven usage

Installation was quick and easy, and initially I thought everything was great, my toddler could not reach the stove knobs anymore. Then we tried using the oven. The oven door hits the covers and knocks them all off, unless you're able to lift all the knobs with one hand so you can open the oven door with the other. I feel it's only a matter of time until one falls into the oven, and I'm left to try fishing it out while keeping my toddler away from the hot door.

did the job, but could be better

The 3" diameter covers were hit by the Maytag oven door when it was opened or closed even if the covers were closed. If these covers were 2 1/2" diameter with the same depth, they would be much better. I bought another brand at 2 1/2" diameter but the depth was too short. The oven door wouldn't hit the covers, but the covers wouldn't close over the oven knobs either. In addition to inconvenience, the larger diameter covers eventually broke because the oven door kept on hitting them. It is difficult to lift 5 covers simultaneously when the oven door is opened or closed to prevent the door from hitting them.
