Installer messed up, Hauslane to the rescue!!!

Ran into a problem with the installation of this unit. The installer really messed up, so much that it rendered the self cleaning feature useless. When contacting Hauslane their customer service was very prompt and helpful. Upon. realizing the severity of the problem they still went the extra mile and are sending me out a replacement! This is unexpected as the issue is not their fault and they are going way past expectation to ensure satisfaction.
By far one of the best customer service experiences in a long time if not, ever!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Decent product, part failures but good support

Product bought end of 2018. Good quality, decent sound. Takes a bit to clan but self-cleaning feature helps. Unfortunately, the self-cleaning pump failed but Hauslane was able to provide a replacement after writing this review. The assistance is appreciated.

I upgraded my existing hood fan as it was not strong enough and the Hauslane has been excellent. My only complaint which isn't really a big deal is when your fan is on a lower fan speed upgrade you hear a humming noise but on higher speeds its no issue. Instructions are great and it comes with all parts required

We just had the vent fan installed and it looks great! The suction power is good and it’s reasonably quiet for a vent fan. The lights are bright as well.

Tough to install, but works exactly as desired

Was in the market for range hood to replace the microwave hood that came with the house. After doing some research I decided to go the UC-PS38 based on the price, look, features (mainly the perimeter suction) - later found that the auto shut-off is a hidden feature on this model which was a pleasant surprise (hold power for a few seconds while on to set the shut off timer). I haven't fully tested the hood (i do plan to sear something that would likely require the highest setting), but so far it has worked perfectly for anything i've cooked (only needed 3 bars) and the perimeter suction does seem to catch most of the vapors when using the front burners. It's only been a few days cooking with it so i haven't used the steam cleaning features yet, but i'm sure it'll be very nice feature to have.
As others have stated, installing it is a bit of pain and could've been made easier. Originally planned to have someone install it for me, but after doing enough research I decided I should be able to do it myself. I had to make some adjustments to the cabinet - carve out a circular hole for the duct, drill a hole into the cabinet for the power outlet and add some filler wood for extra reinforcement and to make the recessed cabinet flush. I definitely recommend getting some cabinet jacks to lift and hold the hood in place. Due to the locations of the back screw holes, it's extremely hard to drill up through the hood into the cabin even with a 12 inch extender- i probably should've marked the spots and drilled pilot holes to make it easier. I actually lost a couple screws in the hood somewhere while trying to drill the last back screw. The power cord does seem poorly placed since it's right next to the other back screw.. you ultimately end up drilling up right into the wood next to the wood. i did have concerns that the opening i made was too big/close to where i needed to drill.. it did take a bit longer to complete, but i was able to do it and so far it hasn't fallen off the cabinet :D.
