STUBBY BEAST!

This has now become my go to impact wrench to the point where I haven't even had to touch my mid torque and hi torque options ever since I got this. The versatility and the overall maneuverability that such a minimal form factor blesses you with is a game changer for me, but then when you factor in the insane amount of power that this has and there's not much that this thing can't handle with ease. It's every bit as capable and powerful as the best stubby air impacts on the market.... All without the need for cords or compressed air.
Dewalt are the new standard bearers when it comes to this particular segment of the market and have set the bar rather high, all at a fair price. Highly, highly recommended.

Great compact impact wrench

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty great impact wrench. I’ve always just used adaptors for my impact drivers when I had to turn any nuts or lags. This is a beast and definitely an upgrade for me. I like the fact that it has multiple settings depending on use. The compactness is welcome for getting into tight spaces and if you pair it with the new power stack battery it’s even more compact.
I am not in a field where I’m using impact wrenches every day, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but I can’t find any fault with it.

Stubby impact for tight spaces and power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 3/8" impact wrench is handy for tight spaces. It has become my go to impact for power and quick use. I do like the ability to turn the work light on and off as needed, but the torque settings are a different story. The different settings make it a neat tool (fancy), but it can leave bolts loose in certain situations in the torque limiting mode. I believe the user needs to have an understanding of how much torque should be applied for their application and use the variable trigger speed for tightening.

Great tool with minor drawbacks

It has worked great so far with everything I have used it for. Lug nuts on smaller vehicles are no issue, seat bolts, all of the smaller stuff around the exterior has been no issue. I've used it for my ATV, SXS and a couple cars. I also used it to drive large lag bolts into studs for a larger TV mount as well as securing items to overhead support beams in my basement. It hasn't had any issues as far as power. The modes are great and I love that the light can be adjusted or turned off completely. The only issue I have run into a couple times is battery retention while the tool is horizontal with the battery release facing down. Not sure how to correct this but it does concern me that I may eventually damage a battery from this happening and we all know the batteries aren't cheap.

A lot of power in such a small package

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this and expected it to be just like the DCF850. I love the 850 for driving screws but it’s not practical for bolts and lug nuts. That’s where this baby comes into play. It’s perfect for taking lug nuts off you car, truck, ATV, side by side etc and it’s so compact and convenient just to throw it in a tool bag with some sockets and go. It has an option for lag bolts that slows the speed down when the screw is extracted but it seemed weird to use. I’m sure the more I use it I may get use to it. The trigger is amazing as with all of my dewalt drills and the handle is ergonomic and fits very comfortable in my hand. I have a Milwaukee 1/2 impact and when I hold the two the Milwaukee feels like I’m holding a 20lb cinder block compared to this dewalt. If I’m going to be breaking off 24 lug nuts. I’d much rather handle the lighter. All in all I’m amazed by the comfort and usefulness of this tool and I’m sure you will be too.

Compact with an outstanding breakaway torque!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this 3/8 impact looks tiny, especially, compared to either earlier models or the 1/2” impact it sure does pack a punch. With 450ft-lb of breakaways and 300ft-lb of fastening what is not to like.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great option to use between an impact driver and a full sized impact wrench. It has plenty of power, yet the compact size makes it easier to fit in tight spaces. It worked great on some 5/8" lag screws on an outdoor project. My impact driver was having a bit of trouble fully seating them. I also used this on my trailer wheels to tighten them down and it worked fine. I am now keeping this in my car if I have to change a tire on my camper/car when I'm not near home. I plan on refurbishing my utility trailer when it warms up, and the small size of this will help me get in the tight spaces to snug up some bolts when I put it back together.

Superior Power and Reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As per usual the performance and power of DeWalt products is unmatched. I use this drill everyday and it’s super reliable for every project. It’s power and torque it provides is crucial for me and my projects. Certain projects require extra power for extra stuck bolts or long bolts that need to be driven into hard surfaces. Only downside is I wish it would come with a battery.
