I use this for my LCD TV, Directv box, DVD, Home theater amplifier, and a Roku. There is plenty of room for more equipment. What I like about it is that all the receptacles are labeled and it's an easy setup. I had a question so I called the TrippLite company. I was amazed when a pleasant human answered and was able to assist me. I later realized that the information I was seeking was on the box of the product so the company is quite thorough.

Protects Our Home Entertainment System

We bought a new OLED TV in 2016 and paid a pretty penny for it. We also upgraded our surround sound with a new Denon system. We weren't about to chance a lightning strike, or power surge damaging our new equipment! -I am happy to say that the Tripp-Lite HT10 DBS had enough connections to handle a FireStick, the new OLED TV, Denon amplifier, and Samsung Blu-ray player as well as protect the set top telephone. We couldn't be happier with the performance so far, and would advise anyone to give this unit a try for cost effective device protection. Great product, and reasonable cost. What more can you ask? :-)

I purchased this item 7 years ago. The product saved my electronic devices from being destroyed. I called the company and I had a new one within one week to replace it free of charge. The lifetime warranty was a life savior.

Saved a new computer during a Thunderstorm

I originally had an isotel ultra circa 1997 - which until recently was great . So 8-21-13 I decided to find another Tripp lite and bought one online of their top of the line HT 10DBS units. As I was registering a brand new computer - the biggest lightening strike hit my house in the (Tampa Bay area) lightening capital of the USA, shook everything - blitzed an old TV, zapped my phone I think. However, I was sure glad I had plugged the new laptop into the new Home Theater Surge suppressor because it offered superior performance and although the screen of the new computer felt it - I think it DID NOT LOSE POWER. So I would highly reccomend this unit and plan on buying 2 more this week.

Industrial strength protection for a home theater and more

Fortunately, I have not been the victim of a power surge, so this review is based on overall design and usability of the product. I will say that Tripp-Lite's warranty and connected equipment policy are the best in the industry and their customer service is perhaps the best in the industry. In terms of overall design, I continue to be impressed by the thought that went into the HT10DBS. Not only are there widely-spaced outlets for use with transformers, but half the regular outlets face inward and half face outward, in contrast to competing brands, where they all face one direction or the other. This can make a significant difference in devices with large, polarized plugs that only fit one way. Protection is provided for phone lines, ethernet networks and for three coax sources, although I seriously doubt many would have the need to connect cable, satellite and an antenna at the same time. The one and only shortcoming as I see it is the lack of multiple RJ-45 (ethernet) connectors. Also, I cannot find any specs anywhere as to whether these are CAT5 or CAT6 - a critical difference when it comes to speed. The reason this is a shortcoming is that it only provides for protection of one side of ones router - either the WAN port or a single LAN port. Let me explain - the majority of the time, this would not be an issue. Most surge damage is caused by a power spike entering through the power line, with a smaller percentage entering over the phone line or via one's cable or broadband provider. A significant percentage of the time, however, surge damage is caused by a nearby lightening strike creating a surge in an antenna. This need not be a direct strike. For obvious reasons, particular care must therefore be taken to isolate an outdoor antenna, or even an indoor antenna. However routers contain a WiFi antenna that is potentially vulnerable to a nearby lightening strike. No surge protector can protect the router itself from this sort of damage, but surge protection on the LAN side of the router could help prevent the damage from spreading across one's LAN to their other equipment. Granted, a lightening strike close enough to fry a router could potentially induce a damaging surge in the wiring of the rest of one's equipment, but why did Tripp-Lite leave open such an obvious vulnerability? Other than that, this is the best-designed surge protector I've ever owned, and I've owned ones from many different manufacturers. I bought three HT10DBS protectors - one for my home theater setup, one for my computer workstation and one for the spot where I typically plug in my laptop. I've read horror stories of people with multiple brands of surge protectors being left high and dry as the different manufacturers point fingers at each other over who is responsible for damage. Therefore, I have made sure to protect all equipment on my home network with an HT10DBS.

Well-engineered product. Super-solid construction. Built like a tank with all-metal housing. Outstanding level of surge stopping power. Diagnostic LEDs. Right-angle plug. $500k insurance (Great rep for honoring their promises). Fail-safe thermal fusing that acts as a breaker. If you are worried about lightening, this is the one you want! The power switch is superior to that of competitors (some of which have a reputation for breaking). There is no chance the switch that will break. It's a premium surge protector and it is totally worth it for expensive home theater equipment.

Excellent quality. Previously had a battery backup/ups that died and modem router ceased functioning. Thermostat normally emails me when the temperature drops in the house. Furnace quit while we were away, ice maker line froze. Result; warped hardwood floor. Butterfly effect.
