4TB G40 SSD = Fast & Super Compact External BackUp

Have 15 of these right now, first ones bought at end of June last year.... 14 in pairs, 7 drives duplicated.
Transfer speed is super = a bit less than 100 GB per minute b/w drives via Thunderbolt 3/4 on Mac M1 Studio Ultra.
I do mostly movie stuff right now & will shoot 100-200 GB per day. The SD will say take 20 to 30 minutes to download onto the Mac's 2TB SSD but then only a minute or two to store on each G40.
So far only issue is apparently some dead areas. Explanined: i save all data (foto images & movie 'footage' in duplicate, & try to load drive within 100 to 200 GBs of 4TB limit. There is discrepacy of 8 to 9 GB between the identical files on one or two drive pairs. Other pairs match exactly in 'free' space.
Space: the 60 TBs of drives sit up on end in halves of old iPhone4 boxes taking up less than 1/4th the space of my former pair of WD G-Raid T-bolt 20 TB external hard drives.
Re long term reliability or drive failure: i am impressed by the 5-year warranty BUT beyond having the external storage, most of the drives have been accessed less than 6-7 times so far but a few have been accessed or written to as many as 50 times. Am aware this is probably far far less than average usage.
Super fast, rugged, light and more than enough for my everyday needs as a traveling musician and songwriter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

THE FACT THAT IT REQUIRES POWERED HUB TO CONNECT TO MACPC IS VERY DSIAPPOINTING. THERE IS NO SPECIAL DRIVER TO REMOVE THATT NEED ALSO. ALSO I HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED IN THE MIDDLE OF WRITE OR READ OR UNABLE TO FIND DRIVER ALSO. I HAVE BAD EXPERIENCE TO USE IT AS A BAKUP FOR MY LOCAL DRIVE TOO.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Kindly note that, since this is a high end device, it is important to ensure the host device can supply sufficient power(5 Volts - 3 Amps) at all times during use. Some systems reduce the USB power which may require a third-party powered USB hub, docking station capable of supplying 5 Volts - 3 Amps or more at all times(https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/34968). If you need further assistance or help with product compatibility, please reach us at: https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/askweb.

100% stable after a year of use. Real performance is 80-90% of advertised max. speed (up to). Keeps the speed over load time periods. Never gets really hot - only consumes a fair amount of power, nicely matching the speed. Small and sturdy. I only withdraw 1 star for speed, because I know even faster ssd´s, albeit they tend to drain the battery more.
