Mostly good experience. Setting up from android app was fine. Setting up from a web browser was problematic if you're pc is on VPN. I will have to turn VPN off every time if I want to manage my router which is annoying. Didn't have to with my previous Asus routers. Speed is very good within my 800sf apt but drops off very quickly outside making outdoor cameras a little tricky.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought the same router last year and it has been flawless. I had some difficulty configuring this device as an access point. The documentation was not great. I called tech support which answered right away and explained how to complete the configuration. Working fine now. The ios app recognizes both of the routers. A little tricky to distinguish the two devices in my Fios 3100 router since they have the same name, RT-AX55, and I could not figure out how to rename them. Eventually just worked with the two ip addresses.

I’m a big fan of DD-WRT and I always replace the firmware. The RT-AX55 had all of the security features I required right out the box. I am very happy with my purchase. I also have purchased 3 ASUS motherboards in the past and they too have performed exceptionally.

Easy and quick to setup. 5 Minute setup effort right out of the box, with the printed instructions provided (wish more companies would provide quick to follow printed instructions). And like any ASUS product, it works perfectly the first time around.
