Excellent product. Quick shipping. It can successfully be used as a boot drive but I'm using mine as a second data drive with a WD Black 250GB SSD NVMe as my primary boot drive. My new build is quick to boot and runs flawlessly.
I have always had very good luck with Western Digital Black drives and see no reason to change.

Item Received Looks Totally Different

The drive I received looks nothing like the pictured item. In fact it looks like an older version as it is all chrome with a white label. The date of manufacture is 2021. No indication if it is 7200 RPM or 5400 RPM. Haven't installed it yet so don't even know if it is D.O.A. or what the actual specs are. Either way I don't believe I received the drive that I paid for.

The best performance you can get from a Hard Disk

I have a IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad and the recovery for my model accounted for a Hard Disk not a Solid State Drive so I took the plunge and bought the best hard drive I could. This is the fastest hard drive i could find and it does not disappoint. You cant expect it to have the same performance of a SSD but it is pretty close to some cheap ones. Overall I am quite happy with my purchase!
