pro's: * takes great pictures

cons: * flash is to slow recharging, can miss shots while flash is charging.
* don't like using aa batteries, or carrying extra batteries - should have a rechargeable battery in camera

great replacement

I dropped and broke my A590 and needed to replace it with another smaller camera that I can carry with me with a belt camera case. The SX130 gave me a nice improvement to the 12.1 megapixels and a decent zoom. About the only feature missing that I would probably be using is the stitch photo. It allows me to use a variety of creative features. I use good quality rechargeable batteries which seem to the help the shorter battery life that some think is a detriment. I also like the larger 3.0" LCD.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

This camera is outstanding and would get five stars except for the instruction manual being poorly written. The signs/symbols instuctions are small and difficult to comprehend.
Pros: Simple controls/menu

Best gift ever

Great camera but a little flimy

I just purchased a SX130 camera in Nov only to fall in love with it until the zoom jammed. So I wrapped it up since it would not fit back in the case and stowed it in my luggage while on vacation. When I got home and unwrapped the camera the whole front lens cover fell off the camera. It must have been bumped in transit and the light plastic lens ring broke. UGH, I packaged it and sent it to the repair shop in the warranty papers. Hope they can repair it!

Nothing but problems

The left side of every picture taken is blurry beyond recognition, the right side is much clearer, I've changed settings, etc. to see if the picture would get clearer and perhaps it was the user error/problem, I've read the manual, changed settings and done all that I can to make the full picture crystal clear.
I'm very disappointed with this camera, I have a ticket into Canon, we'll see if they stand behind their product. This is the first time I've had problems with Canon, generally the cameras have been excellent.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: Poor image quality, Poor Low-Light Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great camera for the price!

I've been using the SX series since they came out, and have been very happy with them!

Not my Best Canon Camera

This is my 3rd Canon Camera and not the best only because of battery problems. First of all needed to purchase separate rechargable batteries and the charger. Disposable AA is not an oprion at all. Even more annoying part of it is, When the flash is on, it frequently says 'Flash is charging'. Well, not all the events going to wait for it to be charged. Also, flash needs to be turned on/off manually.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky, no auto flash.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
