Does not score

This scoring stylus does not score. I'd give it a -5 star review if it were possible.

Does not stay in Clamp A
on September 12, 2020

So I was very excited to get the stylus, however every time I have tried to use it (and loaded per instructions), when it begins the project it is ejected from the clamp and shoots up from the Cricut. I have tried to leave the arrow above the suggested area, however then I do not get lines at all. I am not sure what I could be doing wrong, however very disappointed at this point.

Good scoring tool
on August 24, 2020

This pen styled scoring tool works great for most projects. I've even used it to emboss copper sheets and it does a great job. It does seem a little loose fitting in the housing due to it wobbling a little, but it has never messed up a score/emboss project.

This is very difficult to put in the machine and it won't stay in place. I use pens in it all the time and it does not fit the same way.

Scoring Stylus with Cricut Maker
on January 1, 2020

I don't have the Scoring Wheel yet, so I used the Scoring Stylus instead after seeing that it was an option in the settings. The first project I used it on worked great. The second time I attempted to use it, the stylus kept popping out of the Clamp A. It was snapped down so the arrow disappeared; multiple tries and same thing. I don't understand why it worked the first time and not after that. I would give 5 stars if it would consistently work.

Missing parts for the stylus
on December 8, 2019

I am not sure how the stylus works. To be fair, we just bought the explore one. Bought a scoring stylus. Went to use the stylus and realized we needed some kind of adapter or collar type of device. The machine did not come with the adapter nor did the adapter come with the stylus. Why does the stylus not come with the adapter. We were going to by pens for the machine, but good thing we did not. Apparently the cricut marketing skills need to be tuned up.

Broke the pen adapter
on November 25, 2019

I tried to use the scoring stylus on my explore air 2 and when I inserted the stylus into the adapter and told the machine to score, a piece of the adapter broke off and came flying out and the stylus popped violently out. Cricut customer service was very nice and are sending me a new adapter. I also found that you can purchase them separately, but they are out of stock, I am wondering if most of the explore air 2 users have had the similar issue and they are stocking up on the adapter. I, personally will not use the scoring stylus any more since I think maybe they need to be redesigned to fit the explore air 2! I wish that tools that cannot be used with the machine you order, would not be included with them! I love my explore air 2 and am not in the market any time soon for the maker.

Scoring stylus

I have a Cricut Explore, and find that the stylus does not work very well. It leaves a faint line that is not useful for folding. I wish you could insert it farther into the housing!
