Scoring Stylus

The scoring stylus has always worked just fine for me! It scores the paper to make the paper easier to fold, no more no less! I've had an Explorer and now I have the Maker and it works just as it is suppose to! You have to push it down into it's housing until the arrow on it completely disappears … it's suppose to make an indention for scoring, hence making a clean fold for your card! I think it works perfect if you push it down into the housing until the arrow on the stylus disappears … I hope this helps someone, if not I wasted a lot of finger power! Lol! Good luck!

If only it stayed in place

I absolutely love this stylus. It's helped me make decorations I otherwise couldn't make. The biggest problem is it won't stay in the A slot like it's supposed to. It keeps popping out of the insert piece rendering the scoring ability. If it stayed in place like it was supposed to, it would definitely get a five star!

I have this stylus - it pops up as soon as the stylus hits the paper and doesn't score. I put masking tape on it at the clamp site and that worked perfectly. Have only used this once. Cricut should fix this.

Does not work at all

I purchased this today so I could make come cards and this stylus does not score at all. It doesnt' even touch the paper and it is in all the way. As I research this I see everyone seems to have this problem and is suggesting hacks for it. I am so disappointed since Cricut products have always been so incredible. Is there a flaw with some of these? I would love a replacement if possible. It is like they are a little too short or they need to redesign so this sits lower in the clamp.

Scoring Stylus Doesn't Work Well

After a short time the scoring stylus doesn't produce a very deep score line and eventually no score line at all. It's useless.

Broke the pen adapter

I tried to use the scoring stylus on my explore air 2 and when I inserted the stylus into the adapter and told the machine to score, a piece of the adapter broke off and came flying out and the stylus popped violently out. Cricut customer service was very nice and are sending me a new adapter. I also found that you can purchase them separately, but they are out of stock, I am wondering if most of the explore air 2 users have had the similar issue and they are stocking up on the adapter. I, personally will not use the scoring stylus any more since I think maybe they need to be redesigned to fit the explore air 2! I wish that tools that cannot be used with the machine you order, would not be included with them! I love my explore air 2 and am not in the market any time soon for the maker.
