I’ve purchased this XL in the past and it has lasted longer. I used it less but it ran out sooner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,
I am sorry that the cartridge didn’t last long for you. I can understand if you are disappointed.
Perhaps you were printing denser printouts with this cartridge. Ink usage determines how long it lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.
It is important that when you turn off the printer down between uses to always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying. That leads to clogs that can shorten the life of the cartridge.
If the poor performance you experienced appears to be due to a defective cartridge, please check about returning it to us. Step-by-step instructions for completing the return and exchange process is covered at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my computer to create greeting cards, photo newsletters, crafts, Sunday school lessons, and lots of stuff for kids which uses a lot of ink. HP is the most dependable and economical place to buy ink. I definitely recommend it to my friends. Up until Covid hit, is was also the fastest way to get ink.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I went to my local office store - and they did not have in ink for home printers. It said they could be ordered and in soon after the order. The reason, many people are working from home - so they are buying the smaller inks. So, I decided to buy on line. I "think" it was more expensive than a year ago ... not sure on that.
