This AC adapter failed after 14 months of very light usage. The problem is that this adapter is much smaller than the older version used by my ThinkPad W520. As a result, it probably overheats. Get rid of this junk and go back to using the old adapter with the appropriate connector for a P53. I'm quite sure the new, replacement one which had to be sent from China will not last long either.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
