I did NOT want to return this chair. I wanted to enjoy it for many years

Sadly I had to return it. Fortunately I am happy with Staples return policy. The lumbar support is ill-designed. After comparing it to my office chair at the office I realized the difference. The padded lumbar support is supported by to small and relatively pointed piece of plastic which dig into my back. Other chairs have more of a "paddle" support behind the padded portion. It is difficult to believe that this wasn't realized in even the most marginal and elementary research and design phase. This could have easily been avoided and a good chair produced.
The chair is comfortable and supports my back. This chair is priced right and fits the bill for my needs; comfort support and not too expensive plus looks great!
We did not read these reviews before we bought it and now we have to return the chair (Staples has been great with the return so far). The chair was unusable for me (5'10" male) and my wife (5'8" female). The headrest hit us in the shoulders even with laughable adjustments strained to their limits. You cannot sit in the chair with the edges of a headrest poking your shoulders. The lumbar support is extremely aggressive and might have been tolerable for my wife- but for me the back support caused lasting discomfort after only minutes of sitting. The lumbar support is not as wide as the chair back so its ends are an unrelenting poke into my back. Just to be clear: I do not think I have ever sat in a chair that ended up being so uncomfortable. That being said I imagine that a 5'7" female (because of shape of waist for lumbar) of normal weight might find this chair just fine.
The chair is well built pretty sturdy and reasonably comfortable for its price. The seat feels thin but it’s ok for 2-3 hours of sitting. The height adjustment is kind of abrupt when lowered. I like the control levers. Overall an excellent value.
