I have been on the lookout for a chair now that I am working from home. This is such a game changer especially with my lower back issues. Now the cats think its THEIR chair.
The lumbar function on this chair is great. Noticeably better posture and back soreness since I've been using. Generally it's pretty comfortable. I"m a shorter guy and the headrest is perfect for me but if you are taller it may be an issue.
The lumbar support is the main problem. After using the first day my lower back was killing me. It never got better. The lumbar support only moves about an inch up/down but it sticks out too far and needs a depth adjuster. That constant pressure into your lower back is just too much. It's going back.
Loved the chair for 6 months until the padding under the front lip fell out

I like the idea of mesh bottom chairs to keep me cool when sitting for long periods of work. I've had a mesh chair in the past but it wasn't supportive enough and gave me back pain. I really like this Hyken chair. The mesh back and seat are both very comfortable. Unfortunately after about 6 months of use there is a strip of padding between the mesh seat and frame of the chair along the front of the seat where your legs hang over the edge that has slipped out of place. I can stuff this piece of foam back between the mesh and frame but it falls right back out after getting up and sitting down only a handful of time. Without the mesh in place the front of the seat has an awkward forward decline that makes it feel like I'm going to slide out of the chair and it is uncomfortable and unsupportive on the back of my legs.
I'm 5'10" so the head/neck rest for this chair was not an optimal height and non-adjustable. My biggest complaint was the lumbar support. It just felt like it was jamming right into my lower back especially when leaning back and was extremely uncomfortable leaving me aching hours later. Sitting at a desk for 9+ hours a day I need sit in all sorts of positions often with one or both legs up on the seat. The chair seat was too small for my needs. The armrests were nice but were positioned too close together imo. I really loved the netting of this chair as I get super hot due to poor working conditions so its a shame the lumbar support and seat were not workable for me. I ended up returning it within four days.
