I have significant issues with neck and shoulder strain made worse by hours at the computer each day. My previous desk chair was contributing to the problem as it was only adjustable by height. After attending a class addressing ergonomics I tried to find a chair that could improve my posture--one with more settings and spine friendly features. This is it! And it didn't cost a fortune. My only problem now is that my entire family wants to use it! It is now much less tiring to work at my computer.
The chair is well constructed. I would change three things to make it "perfect" for me. 1) The headrest if attached is not height adjustable. It should be height adjustable. It is too low for my head so I am leaving it off the chair. 2) The seating surface is not expandable toward the front of the chair. I have long legs. Were there to be an adjustment to extend the length of the seat cushion it would make sitting on the chair for an extended period much more comfortable. 3) The instructions call for tightening down the screws every week. I suggest using LockTite or a similar product on the screws after the chair's positions have been optimized so that the screws stay in place.
The arm rests alone are reason not to buy this. No padding and when you lean back they stay put so you essentially can't use them. Mesh doesn't flex enough and is uncomfortable to sit on. The headrest is too far back and not adjustable that way only up and down. If you want to lean back and watch a show you can forget about the headrest. The only good thing about this chair is the construction. Unlike a cheap wooden frame chair I could lean back in this and not fear that I'm going to snap the back in half.
Easy to assemble. Very comfortable. Light weight and breathable. Rolls/pivots well. Plenty of adjustments make it ergonomically very good especially for the sale price of under $130. I would recommend to anyone and have already done so. The instructions are very clear and concise. Parts are individually bagged and labeled. Perhaps they could forgo the color coded paint on the screw threads. The paint makes it a bit tough to get them started. Other then that the only other con would be to have an adjustment to shorten or more likely extend the arm supports and pad them. Overall I give it a 9/10.
I absolutely love this chair! When I recline on it with the headrest adjusted just right I feel like I can fall asleep on it. The assembly is straight forward however tightening the screws with the supplied allen wrench is not the easiest thing to do and I have strong fingers. If I had a power tool it would have been nice but it is not a requirement. All in all I am very satisfied with this chair and would definitely buy it again!
