Very sturdy chair, comfortable and was easy to assemble. Especially like that you can adjust height & arms.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wasted potential

This is regarding the new XL Hyken. The seat is large and the foam cushion is supportive. Assembly is fairly easy, but i feel like the chair just comes short of what it could be.
1:Tilt. I could not find a way to tilt the chair forward. The most forward of the 3 tilt options is literally still a recline. The chair NEEDS to be able to properly support someone wanting to sit at a 90 degree angle, when I sit on it, it instead feels very reclined. I have a feeling the designers of this chair simply thought of comfortable recline positions, but not positions to actually use your PC from. Not everyone likes being slumped back in their chair as they use their pc. Adding a way to simply tilt the chair more forward would make this an infinitely better product, and it's a shame to see something so simple ruin it for its ONE purpose.
2: The lumbar support needs a lock-In function. It easily shifts during use. What is the point of using lumbar support if putting pressure on it lowers it over time?
3: the tilt tension is too low, and takes far too many turns. turning is very tiring on the hand.
I intend to return this chair and seek one from a non-staples brand. I would have probably kept it if at bare minimum, the tilt had an upright lock-in setting. If staples can see this review, and i simply didnt notice the proper way to tilt the chair, *please let me know*. But if there is no way to tilt the chair upright, and you are receiving many returns of the hyken XL, this IS why.

Ok chair

This chair was a nightmare to put together by myself. It was easy until you had to attach the back to the seat. That part took me hours. The seat is very firm.. I thought that there would be some moregive than this, but its ok.the chair naturally leans back too far for me to have support while im sitting up working. i would like the lumbar support to be a little deeper, this doesn't feel like enough, though it is nice to adjust the height. the headrest on the back of the chair was hard to put on too. the depth of the hole where you have to attach two screws to the back of the chair is like two inches, and the screws are only 1/2 in long, so it was really frustrating putting the headrest on as well. The arms are adjustable but they seem to more too easily. Finally, its taller than i expected. at the lowest setting, my feet graze the floor but do not lay flat. I am 5 foot 6. maybe its just my big but ruining everything, but the height is something to consider. maybe that is a plus for you, since its for tall people. Im going to keep the chair, im just trying to be specific in my review for future buyers.
Great chair for those over 6’1”. Sits high for those only 5’11” or less. But add a foot rest and will provide proper ergonomics and adjustable arm support. Like the large cushion seat and vented back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Superb Assembly

The chair is as stated and is a functional ergonomic chair with adjustability. What I am most impressed with however was the assembly, which was clearly laid out, including individual compartments for which screws to use during each step.

So adjustable. I am a 5'4" and I have never had an office chair so comfortable. My feet touch the ground and the other adjustments make it even more comfortable.
