I purchased this chair for multiple reasons. First I like the mesh seat and back for the sake of temperature in the summer when others in the office don't see the need to run the air conditioner yet. I like the feature of being able to raise and lower the seat to accommodate differing desk heights. The main reason I got it was because of how straight I could make the back rest on it. I've been having problems with sciatica and my chiropractor recommended getting a new desk chair and this one seems to fill the bill. I visited the local Staples store and they had the chair on display (and on sale). I tried it and decided I liked it. I really appreciated the fact that if I wasn't pleased I could return. But there is no chance of that! I love my new chair!!
I received this chair the day after I ordered it and it was shipped for free. It was very easy to assemble without assistance. The directions are very easy to understand. It looks great and it is very comfortable. I highly recommend this chair to anyone needing a new one!
I'm really picky about my desk chairs because I sit in one all day. Also I have a pinched nerve in my neck from being on the computer so much but the Hyken Chair is perfect i can adjust it just right so I'm not adding tension to my lower back and neck. I'm only 5'4" so my legs are short but this chair lowers just right for my feet to go flat on the floor. When I was in Staples buying this chair there was another short woman there checking out chairs and she too fit well so also purchased this chair. The seat bottom is really comfortable too.
I needed a chair as I have lower back problems and work from home. This chair is rated to be able to sit for 5-8 hours which I do. The seat is also small and I am a small woman. I needed some lower back support which this does provide. The seat is an open mesh with no padding but it does have some bounce and resistance. I am not sure this will work for me in the long run but it works for now. The arm rests are comfortable. I don't use the tilt feature to often but every now and again it is nice to have. We debated on putting the headrest on as the chair looked much nicer without it but we did just to make sure we did not loose any parts. Overall for the price it will work well. BTW I don't make chair recommendations as it is so personal. We spent two hours in the store with me sitting and trying all the chairs. The ones I really loved were the high end staples with massive cushioning but I did not want to pay >$300 and the chair bottoms are made for men and not women. Happy hunting.
i like the chair a lot....there are 2 things though bothering me: the hand restings without upholstery.: and the back support dosnt have enough adjustments.....
Being a short woman I need a chair that the seat isn't too deep so that my legs fit the cair properly this chair does that for me. The beauty of that is that I can actually sit back on the chair have the full back support and my feet can touch the floor even when I raise the chair high enough to work at my desk. I have had many comfortable chairs but this is the first one that allows me this wonderful comfort. It will also allow me to sit in the proper ergonomically correct position when I am using the computer. I have already had carpal tunnel surgery and don't want to injure my body anymore. I also like the mesh as I don't like to get stuck to the seat when I sit on leather and most of the other chairs that I looked at that were almost comfortable were in leather.
Definitely try this chair out before you buy it the quality was low it had safety stickers all over the bottom that left white marks that won't come off and the tilt feature will not work at all.
