As good as far pricier alternatives

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed by this chair, easy to put together, attractive and, most importantly, both comfortable and supportive. I’ve bought far more expensive office chairs before that were much less comfortable. As someone who’s 6ft5 and 220lbs, most office chairs don’t go high enough, my thighs won’t be perpendicular to the ground, the lumbar support will be too low etc. but this was excellent in that regard. I’ve only had it for a few weeks but so far this has been a significant upgrade and, given that I work from home so spend 8-9 hours a day in it, I’m a very happy customer.

Incredible comfort at an amazing price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being 6’4” and 250 lbs., I have tried more office chairs than I’d like to admit, often struggling to find one that felt like it was made for me. For me, the Hyken XL made a strong first impression. From the moment I sat on it, I felt it was significantly more accommodating than the “standard-sized” office chair I hoped it would replace. The extra width and reinforced base gives it a solid, sturdy feel that does not leave me wondering if it is going to break. The layered foam seat with coil springs is noticeably more comfortable than a thin cushion, and the mesh back helps keep my back feeling ventilated, which is a big deal as I run hot. As someone that spends almost 40 hours a week sitting at my desk, comfort is key and this chair hits the nail on the head.
Once you look past the initial comfort you experience when you first sit on the chair, you quickly realize how extremely adjustable the chair is. It allows for adjustments to the seat height/depth, lumbar support, arm rests, head rest, and the tilt/recline tension (essentially allowing you to set how far your chair goes back). In practice I was able to set the seat depth to give me enough thigh support without the front edge digging into the back of my knees, raise the back height so my upper back and shoulders felt supported and not “hanging” off the back of the chair, adjust the lumbar to support my lower back comfortably, and use the armrests at a comfortable height relative to my desk and height. The recline works well for leaning back for thought or reading, and locking it for forward working upright, when needed. The headrest is an added comfort item that I never thought about needing but now cannot see myself living without. The ergonomics of the chair are really satisfying, and what I like most about the Hyken XL!
Visually, the chair is quite clean and modern: a black mesh back, dark fabric seat, a chrome-toned base and a robust build. It doesn’t scream “budget office chair,” but it also doesn’t try to look like high-luxury executive furniture which is fine as in my experience, the fancier a piece of furniture looks, the less comfortable it is. Overall I was happy with the look and feel of the chair.
In the end, as a tall person who spends a lot of time at a desk, this chair finally felt like one of the few that “fits” rather than “just tolerates” my build and I am very happy with it.

So far so good

Adjustable lumbar support, headrest, armrests, and seat, including the ability to adjust the distance between the seat and the back, made it easy to get the perfect fit for a 6'4" frame.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Staples Hyken XL Ergonomic Fabric Swivel Big & Tall Chair is a pleasure to sit in at my home office. This is a fantastic chair for a larger guy which I am and finding a chair for me is not an easy task. The assembly of the chair took a little bit yet there was nothing I couldn’t handle. The padded cushion is fantastic for long days of sitting and working. The back is nice and breathable, so the chair has not gotten hot on my back. Everything on this chair is adjustable, which made it so wonderful once I had all of my choices dialed in. It might be me yet I wish this chair was all black with no silver on it as it as I not a huge fan of silver. This chair looks like a much more expensive high-end chair and functions just as well too. If you are a big and or tall person do yourself a favor and buy yourself a Staples Hyken XL Ergonomic Fabric Swivel Big & Tall Chair.

Excellent Big and Tall Chair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had the opportunity to review the Staples Hyken XL Ergonomic Fabric Swivel Big & Tall Chair. My first impression was great, the chair came expertly packaged for shipping. Each part was clearly labeled and assembly was very easy. It took around 30 minutes with one person. I especially like all of the small screws being labeled for which step to use them on. The chair itself resembled any other black computer chair at initial glance, the picture did not do the size justice.
I am 6'10" and around 325. This chair is comfortable and the seat itself feels extra cushiony- I applaud this. The chair is TALL and makes it very easy to stand up from. There is lumbar support that appears adjustable and the headrest is also easily adjustable.
The seat controls for raising and adjusting are intuitive and also have a locking mechanism which I love. No more crazy kids sneaking up behind me and lowering it without my knowledge! The look and design is decent, nothing too fancy but not shabby. The appearance is just plain black and it is aesthetically minimalist and appealing. Just what I want and need for my computer area.
What I like most is the height and overall size of the chair. It is very much a large person supported chair and I would endorse the chair to someone up to 400lbs. One thing I am a little bit eery of is the base material and how long it will hold up as it appears plastic- it is a strong plastic, though. If you wanted to make it capable to support heavier, consider a metal base with metal casters. Also, I would recommend some glue for the screws unless you have a need to disassemble the chair. Screw glue would remove the need to tighten the screws with heavy usage on a daily basis causing them to come loose.
Excuse the background, but in the attached photo you can see the Hyken chair on the left vs another chair rated for individuals of my size on the right. The difference is large. (No pun intended)

Great Chair just not for me

It was easy to put together and pretty adjustable - however, I'm about 6'1" and it was just too tall for me. It's very attractive, designed well and smartly, and I liked the adjustable headrest and lumbar the most. Definitely recommend for those over 6'2" and on the heavier side as it's incredibly sturdy and well built.

Great for big and tall people

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a 6'1" 250lb man I really enjoy this chair. This is probably the widest office chair I have ever owned. It makes it extremely comfortable. I generally struggle to find chairs that are tall enough for me to lean back with head support and this one fits me perfectly with the adjustable head rest. The mesh back is a nice feature so it doesn't get hot and the cloth bottom is way more comfortable than having a mesh seat so I'm glad this has both styles put together. I would highly recommend this chair to all my fellow big and tall people.
