Leaking/Damage

I bought a pack of 32 AAA's 1 year ago and contrary to the label it leaks. It leaked with the packaging and in my flashlight. The acid ruined the connectors on the flashlight. Beware of the 10 year leak proof guarantee - it LEAKS!!!

Another sad story of Duracell AA & AAA batteries
on June 17, 2018

2025 Duralock AA & AAA batteries are evidently made in China, seems they don't last even a year and corrode even when sitting in the container! (see pic. I am about to throw away all my last batch of 2025 Duracell batteries and Energizers...

I put new Duralock AA's into a Microsoft wireless mouse. One week later one had popped the end and leaked in to the mouse causing quite a mess.

When are you going to recall these?

I have used Duracell for many, many, happy long years. But a recent batch seems to be defective. I had a big pack of AA and a big pack of AAA, both dated 2022, and all the batteries in each pack broke open and leaked - one set of AAA leaked within 6 months of being put into a TV remote!!!!! It's not just the fact that I paid a premium for the Duracell brand; it's BATTERY ACID that's being leaked here, and I've had 2 remotes ruined as well as other electronic equipment that most often cannot be repaired and has to be replaced.

Brand new battery squirted acid, destroys mouse

Expiration date on batteries is Dec. 2025. The two in my Microsoft mouse made a strange spirting noise and leaked battery acid all inside the mouse. Mouse now has problems and had to replace. Going to use another brand instead.

Leaking Batteries

I had bought a large package of 20 double AA from lowes about 6-7 months ago.My wife wanted to buy the cheaper brand that was there but I insisted on these because of the reputation of good quality. Sorry to say that out of 20 batteries 8 of them leaked into our remotes, We have no idea why, I do know the less costly brand didn't leak but did not last as long as Duracell,The whole reason why I went with these.
I had to take my Dremel tool with the wire wheel to clean out all the white junk.
Nothing wrong with the remotes luckily. I would have put up pictures of this I just noticed that was add photos and this happened about 2 months ago and threw out the batteries.

DO NOT leave these batteries in any device you care to save for over a week. I've had pocket voltage testers (Greenlee), hand held laser temp probes (Milkaukee), and my sons hand held electronic games all ruined by the Copper Top battery. These batteries were not used past the due date stated on the battery. On the other hand the Energizer I've had good luck with when I need a throw away battery. Now I use rechargeable almost all the time. And most certainly I would never use the CopperTop battery in any smoke detecter. OMG it scares me to think of lost lives due to these batteries. So you asked and here is my honest review. Eneloop batteries are great rechargeables. Energy and Energizer are my next choices. Thank You. Mr. C Stiles
