No Security Software

I just purchased the 8TB Creator Desk Drive. I could not get the SanDisk Security Software to work with this product. The software keeps indicating “Attach a supported SanDisk drive”. It appears that the Security software is not intended for use with this product, as indicated on the SanDisk website.
https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/31795/~/how-to-install-and-use-sandisk-security-software#subject2 lists the products that can use the security software and then indicates “Drives not listed are not supported” The product that I purchased is not listed, so apparently it is not supported.
file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Western%20Digital/SanDisk%20Security/Locale/en_US.lproj/AboutSanDiskSecurity.html again lists products that can use the security software and then indicates the security software does not support SanDisk hard drives that were not originally configured for the SanDisk Security software. The product that I purchased is not listed. I’m not sure how SanDisk expects me to determine the original configuration of a given SanDisk product.
I guess that the next time I want to purchase a SanDisk product, will need to study the SanDisk website to try and determine which SanDisk products are compatible with SanDisk software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
