This is my first time cooking on Stainless steel. I took a leap and tried Cuisinart’s wok, and I love it. It’s a bit bigger and wider than my old Calphalon wok so I am getting used to the size difference. I’ve cooked scrambled eggs in it (for fried rice) and a sauce, stir-fried vegetables, and made fried rice. It took me a few tries to get the proper butter/oil coating down to prevent sticking to the pan, but do it right and your results are amazing. The cleanup was easy -despite the bulky wok - and Bar Keepers Friend polishes the stainless steel to look like new. I love cooking batches of meat and vegetables for stir fry in this! It is the perfect addition to my Cuisinart stainless steel set. I know not everyone cooks with a wok, but it is one of my favorite kitchen items and Cuisinart has made a terrific piece! The glass lid is not really necessary ( you don’t need a lid for stir fry generally speaking; it makes things mushy) but it’s nice to have. I just wish it were less wide, that’s all!

I'm really pleased with the Cuisinart Wok. It's not too heavy for my weak arms and is perfect for cooking my Thai recipes. It cleans easy and I recommend this pan. I have only used 3 times, I'll check back later.

Amazing pan! Cooking healthy for a large family just became so much easier with this Cuisinart 14" flat bottom Wok. I have a glass top stove and this pan having the flat center makes it a perfect piece if cookware on the glass too stove.

Stainless Steel gets a bad rap for everything sticking to them. But the key to any SS pan is to season them. This pan seasoned well and works as well as a non stick pan at higher heat applications. No-stick is good for Low Heat, but SS is good for all applications if you season your pan. I cooked fried rice, which includes meat, veg, rice as well as egg. When finished, I was able to wipe out the pan just with a paper towel. It has great balance as well as head distribution with a thick bottom and a stay cool handle which is nice with the high heat applications. Dishwasher safe, but really no need.

This is my second one of these Woks. The first one became too hard to clean after I burned on some food cooking stir fry. Note that instructions say DON’T cook on HIGH heat. That is good advice I didn’t have on the first one. We had an electric cook top in our last house and it only heated the bottom, which is the way Woks SHOULD be used. When we moved and got a gas range with a large burner, I started using it and that is when I started having problems, since I always cooked on high burner setting. Also used steel wool on the first one to try to remove burn stains; a NO-NO. The first one lasted for four years of electric cook-top cooking, but I gave up after a year with Gas and destroying the finish. Following directions on this new one and hope that it lasts a long time and stays bright and shiny and easy to clean with just a sponge and soapy water

The aluminum encapsulated base separated from the bottom of the pan after a single use. I have been collecting Cuisinart since the 80s. But I have never had a piece that the bottom separated from the pan like this. The photo shows how the base is no longer properly attached to the Wok. At one time, Cuisinart was recognized as The Best Cookware, price not considered. What happened to this company that this Wok would pass a “Quality Control” Inspection. If you buy one of these…Inspect the Base! ~ OK, just for the people that may think I don’t know what I’m doing. I have cast Iron, carbon steel and stainless steel cookware in my kitchen. Each is different and I know how to cook on all of them. I opted for this stainless steel wok because I knew I wouldn’t be using it over screaming high heat. Stainless steel pans don’t work well with really high heat. This Wok is more suited to medium heat rather than the extremely high heat used with traditional Asian (Carbon Steel) woks. I’m returning this Wok for another and I hope the replacement is more indicative of the Cuisinart quality I’m used to. Oh, this is my second Cuisinart Wok! I gave the old one to my daughter several years ago. I wish I kept it. They hardly use it and it seems to be holding up — More to follow when I receive the replacement. >>> UPDATE: I chose to replace the Cuisinart with another brand; a 13-inch Stainless Steel Wok. Better construction, better handle, stainless steel dome cover, and comes with a a Chuan!. Sorry.
