Rapid Battery Drain With No A/C Power Provision

Installed the unit and it seemed to perform everything that is advertised, but it has a serious shortcoming in battery life. The design overlooks the usefulness of remote administration because while you may control access remotely, you can't change the batteries when you are half way around the world. This is a major oversight by the designers. It should have a provision for A/C power supply with batteries only being used as a relay-controlled backup power source. The hub relies on A/C power, so it's clear that they didn't think it through... If I need to grant only temporary access to our building maintenance people while I am out of the country, I can't afford to have the batteries die while I'm traveling and I certainly have no intention of giving the maintenance crew a key to the lock.

As an ABB owner practicality and security were the most important things. We purchased this a month ago and has worked smoothly. The camera is a nice add on. The unique code that I can produce for each guest has been ideal since I can generate it well in advance of the stay and the instructions to each guest/user is very detailed.

Vision meets all I want for a safety lock. I added the fingerprint of all my family members. And it can create temporary passcode for my friends. It also looks very nice and sleek and matches great with my door. Love it ~

My mom has dementia and her nurse has trusted access every day. I know when she comes and go's with notification and camera video. The door locks automatically after 30 seconds of door closure. Secure and dependable. Love it!

Without all its functions being excellent, the only thing that seems very bad to me is that it uses 8 AA batteries and you have to change them monthly and reconnect everything
