Interactive and intricate space build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, what a cool way to get a child (or yourself) immersed in space and science! I was very impressed with the level of detail and intricacies that went into making such a realistic looking design. Even the machines and engines showcase the inner mechanics and hydraulics which really adds to the sophistication of this build. It has mechanics that can extend and maneuver, i.e. the cockpit self-levels and moving gear and rotors. It has a separate cargo load that can hook in to pick up and move! My favorite part is the mini space rover. A mini rover?! Like how cool and realistic is that?! The whole thing is impressively large and is a several hour build. It is definitely worth its price tag for its design complexity and intricate build. I truly think it's on the cheaper end for Lego. It is entertaining, promotes science and space exploration, and did I say, cool?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My little one loves all things space related and has a blast building this with his dad. They took 2 weekends to finish the full project. I think this is great gift for a 10 year old or a grown up who loves space. The quality is off course fantastic as all Lego toys are. As a Lego loving family we were thrilled to build the heavy cargo space ship.

The design is outstanding, both aesthetically and technically; providing a great build experience and an authentic science fiction model. Love it; great work Lego team!

We’ve built many of Lego’s recent Space vehicles (42158, 42180, 42182) and 42181 VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship is my favorite. Fun build, great play features that work flawlessly and a very reasonable price. Nice work Lego!

As an adult this is hands down the most playable set I’ve seen in a while. I love that it has a handle and three movable functions within reach of the handle. And it looks awesome!
The only downside is the stickers, there are so many and I’ve never been a fan of stickers on legos. But overall I love having and playing with this set. I’d love to see more flyers like this that are clearly meant to be held and flown, especially in the space theme.
