I have been using the WM-530-Pro 36" for two months now and in general it works quite well. Installation was similar to other major brands and everything was accounted for in the box. The hood has great suction and looks great in our kitchen. Good craftsmanship and good detailing on all the components. I have one major complaint: the hood is so loud on the low setting that I have to step away from it to hear someone speak in the kitchen. This was never an issue with the hood that I had for 19 years and had to replace. It is advertised to run at 1.5 sones when on low, it is actually a loud 15 sones. That's a huge difference and unacceptable. I would not recommend this hood to a client and I am an architect.
I bought a Hauslane hood 2+ years ago when I moved into my new house to replace the dirty dated one that came with the house. It has been nothing short of exceptional the entire time l've lived there. I remodeled my kitchen and kept the hood. I realized had discarded some of the hardware and reached out to the support team and they quickly got me everything I needed. My friend is in the market for a new hood for her kitchen and I quickly reccomended Hauslane. I even bought her the wrong filters, but reaching out to support, they quickly resolved my issues again. 10 out of 10. Thanks again
I've only had this unit for a couple of weeks, so consider that in this review. On the plus side, the hood looks good and is very effective at clearing steam/smoke/odors out of my kitchen. It was also pretty easy to install (but see below...)
I have three points on the negative side, which prevent this from being a five star purchase for me. 1. This thing is LOUD. I know you might be thinking, as I was, "yeah, everyone says it's loud, but that's just how range hoods are." I bought this to replace a similar cfm hood from iKTCH which was no longer functioning properly. the Hauslane is *significantly* louder than that one. It's pretty hard to have a conversation in the kitchen while it is going. 2. The installation instructions re the chimney are annoying. What I mean by this is that if you install the bracket for the chimney about an inch from the ceiling as the instructions say, you'll end up with the top of the chimney... about an inch from the ceiling. It's just cosmetic, but that little gap is annoying and looks unprofessional. 3. The buttons are actually just touch, as opposed to mechanical buttons. I don't think this is actually a fault, but I thought they were mechanical buttons based on the picture, and I was wrong about that. Just fyi in case this matters to you.
First, customer service was exceptional the two times that I called asking about this product. Customer support weighed heavy on my decision of getting this. Second, this thing really sucks.....literally. I was very surprised and pleased at the volume of air this hood moves and the lights are just right. Installation was a little tricky, you will need two people to mark the anchor locations, one to hold it at the right height and leveled while the other makes the marks. Ducting to the roof is a whole other story. The only thing I would improve on would be to include a mounting template like you find with microwaves. Stick it to the wall level, mark the holes, and then it would be feasible to install with one person. I was actually disappointed not finding a template in the box. Other than that I am 100% satisfied with it. I am actually recommending this particular hood to a friend.
