We sent our son to college this year in Oklahoma. Every other day we get thunderstorm alerts for his area. He has not had any problems with his electronics that are plugged into his Tripp lite surge protector. Hopefully it will continue to protect even through the spring storm season.

Before buying this one, I spent a lot of time comparing different brands and models. This won hands-down for its outlet layout, warranty, and importantly, its joule rating. Many seemingly good surge protectors are weak in the latter area, which is one of the most important to consider when it comes to actual protection of your devices. This one excels. Have been using it for more than a year now, and it has performed perfectly. Would definitely buy again.

I use these all around the house as an economical surge protector that I can rely on, wherever I don't need the additional coax or network lines protected as well. The design of the supressor is such that you can use up to three bulky transformers without blocking the use of the other outlets, since two of the outlets are provided on the side. Additionally, it has a rating of 2160J, which is plenty of protection for me for most applications. After having an issue with a lightning strike, I spent a lot of time researching reviews of products and customer feedback to get a feel for which companies actually stood behind their products. Tripp-Lite was the only one I felt I could trust.

We had a power outage after hours and our CMM (Computerized Mechanical Measurement) apparatus had a "hard shutdown", which corrupt a couple of programs and settings. We realized a standby power supply or UPS was needed but also surge protection on several of our expensive test equipment. The UPS has built in surge protection for the CMM, but it left our other equipment unprotected. Being in Arizona, the second most likely state after Florida for power surges caused by lightening. Researched surge protection available through our normal purchasing channels and found this one at a very reasonable price which was a bonus. Our company is very cost sensitive and watches every dollar. Now our Tensile/Pull Testers are protected against damaging line surges.
