Though the xchairs are stylish and sturdy, I was unaware that the dark natural had a "hand scraped" finish. No where was that mentioned in the description of the chair. This feature makes the chairs extremely scratchy and splintery in spots and makes them a bit problematic with the kids. The chairs are a greenish brown and not at all the "dark natural" brown color pictured. I chose to keep them as returning seemed too big a process.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Chairs had two major flaws - 1. Rough to the touch and would likely leave splinters and 2. This color had a greenish hue to them that was not mentioned nor seen in other pics.

Solid chairs, great price

Ridiculously pleased with these chairs. I hesitated when I saw the shipping cost, but the price + shipping still came out to ~significantly~ less than other similar-style chairs (that were not nearly as solid or well made), so took a risk and so glad I did. I was afraid they would feel fragile or dinky, and they are not. Light but solid, no wobbling. I'm looking forward to having these around my kitchen table for years to come.
