Be Aware, Be Very Aware

Within the 5 years I have owned this washer I have had to replace the discharge pump twice and the seal gasket once. And now, it vibrates so badly I have to use the slowest spin setting and use extra time in the dryer. After researching to repair, it is more economical to trash this one and buy another brand. GE used to be a brand you could trust.

the machine's bearings are shot and we are told it will cost more to fix than to replace. So frustrating that an expensive washer like this can't last longer than 6 years.

This washer is awful

I am very frustrated with this washer. It stops mid-cycle and I can't pinpoint when or why. I can only hope that it finishes a load because it is so random. There are no error codes and it is so expensive to have it repaired. I'm not sure paying GE to repair it will be worth it. Did I mention I purchased it in October of 2008? So it's only 5 years old. In my opinion, it must be a terribly designed washer because I did a search online for how to solve this issue and there are others out there who are having the exact same problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very user-friendly and great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer machine is very easy to use and has several wash cycles including colors, whites, speed wash, delicates, stain, etc. It holds a significant amount of clothes and is very easy to pause after it has started if you forgot to put an item in it. The washer (and matching electric dryer) are very quiet when in use also.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Glad that after sitting in storage the door seal and rubber ring has no mildew. Also it seems to do a thorough job washing large even bulky loads. I've always appreciated the speed wash setting and it doesn't take an excessive amount of time for other settings as well! The detergent rezaviour seems to be efficient and keeps clean and rinsed. It's a quiet machine overall.. Though I'm displeased to have found that after sitting some time without use the 'drain pump housing' has developed a small hairline crack and now my machine is leaking out the front bottom during and after use.... :( HELP! I NEED A PLASTIC REPLACEMENT! Without spending a ton for the motor attachment as well! :/
