Excellent headset with one drawback

I was looking to replace my old Bluetooth Plantronics Voyager headset that served me well for about 15 years. This time I wanted a DECT one for better distance. I turned to Plantronics/Poly based on my very positive past experience.
This design is much more comfortable than over-the-ear type. After 7-8 hours straight I didn't even have to change ears (this is one reason I prefer a single-ear design - to change ears when needed). Battery lasts a very long time. It's also replaceable, so I expect 7310 to last much longer than my old headset, which I had to replace because of the battery.
Having a dedicated mute button is awesome. It's also tactile - excellent design. LED is very useful to show the mute status.
Sound quality is also better than my old one. You can actually hear the bass. Not really needed for voice but makes it sound fuller and richer.
The distance is a bit worse than I would have wanted, there is some interference when I'm on a different floor. Granted, the signal has to travel through multiple walls and metal air ducts. And it still works really well, no dropouts. I suspect the Office model with a base transmitter might have been better as its specifications show longer distance.
I'm very satisfied with the purchase. Make sure you install Poly Lens software as it has a lot of useful configurable settings. I started to use the headset without the software, and people kept saying that my voice was coming across too quiet. After installing Lens, I realized the headset is configured for wearing on the right side, and I'm wearing it on the left side. Changing the setting fixed the issue immediately.
The only drawback of 7310 that I didn't expect is you can't use it while charging. My old headset can do that - just plug in a long charging cable during a call. It was super useful when battery got too low in the middle of a call or when I didn't have enough time to recharge between uses. Some headsets can only be charged on a base anyway, but 7310 can be charged with a USB-C cable. There are plenty of long flexible cables that could temporarily turn 7310 into a wired headset in a pinch. Unfortunately, it disconnects immediately when plugged in. I really wish Poly changed this behavior with a software update.
I would recommend this to a friend!
