First off, The blade lock mechanism, definitely limits this to a light duty/EDC tool. That being said, it rapidly became my favorite EDC tool. The assortment of screwdriver sizes and the compound leverage pliers has saved me many trips back to my toolbox. The knife isn't good for much more then opening mail and boxes, but I've always preferred a dedicated pocket knife for anything more than that anyway. Lightweight and pocket friendly, I carry with me most places and have found it useful more times than I can count.

Owned a sog s44 for nearly 20 year. Amazing yet simple design. When i finally broke the pliers on it, I immediately looked for another SOG replacement. I settled on the access due to the size. Compared to my old S44, this thing is junk. Flimsy, thin steel, lack of attention to detail, and overall poor workmanship. I have a poorly constructed gerber multitool which is constructed and feels identical to this...cheap! I ended up boxing this back up, and headed over to ebay to buy another used S44. Im not sure if the powerlocks are any better, but if this is the type of tools SOG makes now, I'll start looking elsewhere when/if my next S44 breaks...

We are sorry you are unhappy with your purchase of the PowerAccess and the perception that poor quality products come out of Asia. That simply isn't true. We will be glad to honor a warranty claim on this product as long as it hasn''t been abused. Please fill out a warranty claim on this page...https://sogknives.com/lifetime-warranty.

I purchased mine at a local Cabela's here in Alberta, Canada. I love how its light, strong pliers, good tool selection, however after a week or so the locks do not work, all tools come out and bend back way too far, this is unsafe! As well a small screwdriver has broken off with very light use. Quality is very low for this tool and since I am in Canada, the warranty doesn't make up for it either - having to send it to the US, etc. that poses a whole bunch of hassles! I think i will stick with Leatherman.

Had this for almost a year now, got it at Costco so I got the nylon sheath to go with it. After a week of use however the soft side of the velcro pulled out and over time, it has just gotten worse and it barely stays closed anymore. The included bits that come with it are fine for extremely light use but if you put any amount of torque on it they slip in the holder at the top of the tool. The silver pins that hold on the plate with your angle measurements keep falling out and I just pop them back in by hand. After use in my fishing kayak without being submerged, they have accumulated rust around the screws and the wire cutters in the pliers. Good things about this multitool are the positive locking system for the knife and such, and the knife is good and sharp from the factory.

The latching system usually cannot handle the leverage and torque of basic applications. The force of application causes the tools to brake free from the latch and either move towards the closed position or, beyond the 180 degree open position and then the tool becomes lodged at some obscure angle to the device and then the tool is completely unusable at that point.... bottom line is, if you're looking for a reliable tool that feels secure during use, keep looking because this particular tool is not the one for you.

Really sharp knife and I like the way to tools lock into place. A little tough to pull out a specific tool with my stubby fingers, but that's a me problem.

If you need a multitool because you work with machines you always need a tool handy but you dont like a big hefty multitool it might be for you. it has all the right tools and some more, you can carry any bits with you and it will hold them when is closed. very neat feature well done sog.
