My petite cat, 5.3 pds, took a nice morning stretch and fell off the back. I can't say I didn't see it coming when fully assembled. No rims or upholstered bumpers on a smallish platforms seem like an oversight in design. Fleece not very cushy, either. It looks great, though, but we will have to figure out to rig it to prevent her from rolling off it. I also wish the cubby was higher, as it is, my dogs are able to stick there face in there.

I think a lot of the time, people are paid to write a perfect review. This wasn't the case. I chose to leave off the top bed so it wouldn't be so tall. I'll use it in the future when the other one shows wear. This is well balanced an made really well. The base is substantial and doesn't rock. I would definitely buy again if I needed another one.
