I keep looking for the perfect lights for specific jobs and decided to try the PX200R out. I was looking for a light to use on the water at night. This is for certain an excellent EDC. Small, light, long battery life, very bright at max (Turbo) with the Medium and High it handles most needs well and Turbo will light up targets at 200 yards. That's handy for navigation at night on rocky wood filled waters The 5000 mAh battery is enough! The moonglow output won't fry your night vision. It's great for making the trudge out to the deer stand in the pre-dawn. Med & high outputs are plenty for most blood trailing work. Is this light best at any specific jobs? Maybe not. But it does almost everything very well along with being light, pocketable, and having good battery live is Just extra.
This PX200R is actually smaller than I expected, which I was surprisingly pleased with its compact design. The size doesn’t limit its features though, the medium, high, low and moonlight beams are all ready to be cycled through with a quick click of the power button. Of course I was so glad this also has the turbo mode to give you that extra boost of light when you need it and not having to have another flashlight on hand to see what you need to the turbo mode - which now has a 40 second timer so you don’t forget to change the mode back to save your battery. Another feature of this PX200R is the Charge port with cover on the side of the device and also the option to directly charge the battery instead. And of course both charging options are the superior type-c and this also comes with your type-c cable as well. Another home run by Coast for sure. I’ll get getting another PX200R to keep on hand and ready for the spring storm season that’s coming soon.
Has exceeded every expectation. From dim to bright every light mode is perfect setting for the job. Battery has a long life. Charge time is not bad. Wearing on hat bill is just a little heavy but manageable. What would make this flashlight perfect for every occasion would a be a magnet on the end cap. Hands down best flashlight I've used in a long time. I recommend this flashlight to anyone.
Coast sent me this for the field test we program; but that doesn't influence my reviews. I absolutely love this light. And I have ALOT of flashlights. It's the perfect balance of power, yet compact. The ZX955 is the perfect battery to keep it going multiple days. I've used it off and on for the last 3 days and it's just now starting to dim. I love the new design coast is doing with these lights. I did take the clip off this one, it's a little big for the pocket, but it works. It feels great in my hand, I honestly can't find a negative thing to say about this, except for maybe that I like it better without the clip, but that's just personal preference and it comes right off. The price point is right on for this. I'd compare it with PX19R except a little more refined and versatile. You can't go wrong with this one.
I received this light as part of the field testing program. I have tested this light against my EDC Fenix E28R V2.0. And my work light Streamlight Stringer DS. I can tell you it is brighter than both! It isn't to small or to large. Fits great in my hand, even with gloves on. It's versatile charging is a plus. With the port being on the light or the battery itself. I find myslef grabbing it for EDC and my worklight. I work in a Steel Mill. Dealing with the elements. From the fringed temperatures outside or the 1400 degree steel running by you. It performs! Its been dropped in pits of water. Works time and time again. The Moonlight feature is incredible! I have not tested it for longer-term storage as an emergency light.
I have 2 negatives, I've found so far is that finding the button in the dark takes longer than it should; my fingers have difficulty rapidly differentiating between the button, especially with gloves on. I do wish there was a tail button. Along with no memory of last setting. Once the button is found it isn't hard to find the setting you want. Its very responsive. Over all. Very nice light. Price point is perfect. Doesn't randomly turn on in the backpack or pocket. It's been very dependable.
